As an Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth procurement of raw materials and services necessary for our smelting operations. Working closely with the procurement team and stakeholders across various departments, you will be responsible for analyzing market trends, managing supplier relationships, and supporting the procurement process from requisition to delivery. Account Manager (Remote)
Your Tasks
Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive procurement strategy for recycling raw materials, aligned with Aurubis Richmond's production plans and sustainability goals. Continuously evaluate and update the strategy to optimize sourcing, supplier selection, and recycling practices.
Service North American suppliers for recycling raw materials and establish long term partnerships.
Help to prepare and carry out contract negotiations.
Assist in acquiring new suppliers and finding new materials.
Report market developments and create market analyses.
Visit suppliers on a regular basis to develop the purchase portfolio.
Coordinate deliveries and contract fulfillment with Customer Services.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, including production teams, engineers, sustainability teams, and finance departments, to understand material requirements, forecast needs, and ensure smooth coordination of procurement activities.
Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding orders, specifications, changes, and issue resolution.
Your Profile
Bachelor's degree, preferably in the field of Economics, Business Administration, or Engineering.
1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
Experience as a buyer or procurement professional in the recycling industry, preferably related to metal smelting or manufacturing.
Understand recycling processes and raw materials used in metal smelting, including scrap metals, alloys, and other recycled materials.
Experience with selling as refining services.
Negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate supplier proposals, conduct cost analyses, and drive cost optimization initiatives in the recycling context.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, and external suppliers.
Ensure a smooth transition between strategic and operational procurement, as well as project management.
Implement location-based procurement initiatives and projects.
Knowledge of supply chain management principles, including sourcing strategies, inventory management, and environmental compliance.
Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations and sustainability standards, such as ISO 14001 and circular economy principles.
Proficiency in using procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
