Job description

The Tool Coordinator is a 100% travel role with 6 weeks on, one week off, and is a critical member of the on-site team supporting the construction phase of building and connecting the wind power plant to the grid. More specifically, they have responsibility for assisting with site setup, transport, installation, mechanical completion, commissioning, and site close-out of a project. The Tool Coordinator follows defined processes and procedures for safety, inventory management and documentation, with a clear focus on Construction Contractual tooling and additional tooling request
Responsibilities:
  • Provide business and administrative support to site leadership for daily operations, including creating and running regular reports (consumption, availability, production, safety, etc.) assist with compiling data for budgets, travel arrangements.
  • Coordinate inventory and tools for site with monthly cycle counts, Monthly Reports-Consumptions, assist with budget, organize a clean and safe warehouse.
  • Support all released planning processes and support improving planning performance.
  • Willing to support and promote Vestas' commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills; responsive and effective listener; ability to get others to follow standard processes and procedures.
  • Ability to onboard and train new hires.
  • Conduct site audits and close out audits.
  • Corrective actions to meet KPI requirements on close outs.
  • Ability to work in both a team-based environment and with limited supervision, capable of working remotely without need for supervision.
  • Ability to identify problems and solve them through root cause analysis; demonstrate solid pragmatical skills and significant attention to detail.
  • Solid time management and demonstrated organizational skills to ensure department goals are met.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to multiple sites or locations on short notice.
  • Spend time on other locations coaching and/or solving problems.
  • Act as a safety leader. Assist with safety stock & PPE, MSDS, environmental containment, manage a clean and safe warehouse.
  • Oversee LEAN processes in the warehouse to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Ability to review, edit, or create WI for the team as needed for existing or new processes.
  • Promote Vestas business by engaging customers

Competencies:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and SAP)
  • Ability to implement processes to efficiently conduct required administrative duties.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license .

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; manual dexterity; reach using arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand and walk. Can lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years minimum of business support experience in either inventory or office administration, wind industry experience is beneficial.
  • Experienced in working with enterprise resource program (SAP desired). Demonstrated ability and experience in planning, logistics, scheduling and inventory control.
  • Professional organizational skills with LEAN experience.
  • Advanced PC computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel). Advanced SAP experience is beneficial.
  • Understanding of budgets and project management is beneficial.
  • 100% travel required between multiple sites; valid driver's license required. Passport for international travel is required.
  • Can obtain and pass forklift training.
