Job description

We are seeking a Senior Science Program Manager to serve as a key architect of our international scientific and clinical research portfolio in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). You will not only direct the execution of complex, cross-functional science and clinical initiatives but also shape the strategic collaboration roadmap that aligns our research investments with our long-term commercial and healthcare positioning in the UAE and beyond.

This is a remote role based in the U.S with a strong preference for candidates based on the East Coast (Eastern Time). Oura's remote employees in major cities like Boston, DC, and New York occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.

What you will do:

  • Orchestrate a Strategic Research Portfolio: Define the governance and roadmap for an international research portfolio, ensuring every study and collaboration is strategically aligned with Oura's evidence-based growth objectives.
  • Drive Scientific Governance: Establish the framework for rigorous, compliant research delivery. You will guide and evolve our operational processes into scalable systems that elevate the quality and pace of our scientific pipeline as we scale.
  • Architect Cross-Functional Integration: Serve as the strategic hub between Health Science, Product, Regulatory, and external global partners. You will influence decision-making by translating complex scientific goals into clear, actionable business strategies.
  • Lead Dissemination and Impact: Own the strategic dissemination plan (publications, abstracts, clinical validation), ensuring our research milestones successfully support our brand authority and regulatory trajectory.
  • Cultivate Global Partnerships: Proactively identify and cultivate high impact research partnerships in the region, managing external CROs and academic collaborators to ensure they serve as an extension of Oura's scientific vision.
  • Travel to the UAE and other regional locations to form trusted collaborative relationships with a complex set of partner institutions ranging from local hospital systems, government entities, and academic/scientific partners.

Requirements

We would love to consider you for this role if you have:

  • 6+ years of program or project management experience in scientific, clinical, or health research, including owning studies end to end.
  • An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a health, life-science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A blend of strategic thinking and robust execution: able to set the direction of research collaborations and then lead the delivery amid ambiguity.
  • Strong working knowledge of the human and clinical research study lifecycle (protocol design and development, IRB/ethics, data collection, and closure) and what rigorous, compliant execution requires.
  • Experience directing complex, cross-functional work across multiple internal teams and external partners (CROs, sites, PIs), ideally across regions and time zones.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate between scientific, technical, product, and partner audiences.
  • Ability to travel to the UAE approximately for onsite visits to support study execution and partner collaboration (~10-15% travel, including international transit)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working on and/or leading research initiatives in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
  • Proficiency in Arabic (spoken and written)

Benefits

At Oura, we care about you and your well-being. Everyone here at Oura has a ring of their own and we are continually looking to improve employee health.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary and equity packages
  • Health, dental, vision insurance, and mental health resources
  • An Oura Ring of your own plus employee discounts for friends & family
  • 20 days of paid time off plus 13 paid holidays plus 8 days of flexible wellness time off
  • Paid sick leave and parental leave

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area.
