Job description

Overview

We’re seeking a Principal Business Development Manager to join Intuit’s Accountant team, responsible for managing and growing Intuit’s strategic relationships with Large Accounting Firms across North America. This individual contributor role focuses on the ongoing stewardship of existing partnerships — ensuring adoption, satisfaction, and mutual value realization — following the negotiation and launch of a partnership agreement.

The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven operator who excels at cross-functional coordination, program execution, and turning signed partnership agreements into durable, growing commercial outcomes. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for partner firms, ensuring commitments are met, issues are resolved quickly, and new opportunities for expansion are identified within the relationship.

This role stewards Intuit’s key accounting partnerships, driving long-term value post-deal and supporting our transformation into a mid-market ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the contractual relationship, assigned Large Accounting Firm partners, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders across the partner organization.

  • Manage the ongoing health of partnership agreements, ensuring both parties meet the commitments, milestones, and success metrics defined in the partnership contract.

  • Own regular reporting and performance cadences (e.g., QBRs, retrospectives, dashboards) to track partnership performance and surface insights to internal and partner stakeholders.

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Customer Success to resolve partner issues, deliver on joint commitments, and align on program execution.

  • Monitor partner adoption and usage of Intuit products, identifying risks to the relationship early and developing mitigation plans.

  • Translate partnership agreements into actionable roadmaps with clear milestones, owners, and timelines, and hold internal and partner teams accountable to them.

  • Identify and pursue incremental growth opportunities within existing partnerships, including expansion into new segments, products, or joint go-to-market initiatives.

  • Support renewal and renegotiation discussions with partners in partnership with Business Development and Legal.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the partner’s business, priorities, and competitive landscape to anticipate needs and proactively bring value.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in partner management, account management, and business development working with enterprise or B2B partnerships.

  • Experience managing ongoing relationships with large, complex external partners — preferably in accounting, consulting, fintech, or SaaS ecosystems.

  • Strong organizational and program management skills, with the ability to run recurring cadences (QBRs, dashboards, retrospectives) that keep partnerships on track.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across Sales, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Customer Success without direct authority.

  • Clear, confident, and professional communication skills, with experience engaging senior-level stakeholders inside and outside the organization.

  • Comfort with tools like GSuite, Excel (pivot tables), and Smartsheet; reporting and analysis experience a plus.

  • Ability to work independently, proactively identify risks, and resolve issues with limited guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience working with or managing large complex relationships across large Accounting Firms or SAAS companies.

  • Demonstrated success with modern SaaS go-to-market models and joint solution development.

  • Experience supporting contract renewals, amendments, or expansions with existing partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; advanced degree a plus or equivalent experience.
