Bennett Thrasher ("BT") has an opening for an International Tax Manager. Working with Partners and Managers to lead, mentor and coach team members in various areas of international tax compliance and across consulting engagements in an effort to help clients minimize tax liabilities. They are responsible for management of engagements and client communications while promoting a collaborative environment to bring value to clients.
Responsibilities:
  • Works effectively in teams to provide quality service to clients
  • Identifies international tax reporting requirements for internal teams, prospective clients, and current client engagements.
  • Communicates appropriately (both verbally and electronically) to clients and firm associates
  • Understands fundamental international tax concepts and can effectively apply knowledge to international tax compliance and consulting engagements
  • Ability to work across multiple projects under tight time frames while maintaining precision with our work product.
  • Responsible for technical work product such as GILTI/NCTI calculations, FDII/FDDEI calculations, FTC calculations, and other highly technical calculations
  • Conducts technical reviews of international forms such as 5471, 5472, 8991, 8992, 8993, 8858, 1118, 8865, and other international forms
  • Can apply international tax concepts to identify and assist in potential client planning opportunities and consulting engagements
  • Ability to adapt quickly to ever changing international tax landscape, conduct research, and effectively communicate those changes to team and firmwide
  • Copious note taking ability as well as project organization and management skills.
  • Effectively manages staff, as needed
  • Contributes and supports new ideas on internal processes and client engagements
  • Practices timely and effective communication to management and engagement team regarding performance, including any related obstacles
  • Gives and receives feedback to minimize repeated errors and apply new concepts
  • Takes ownership of assignments to ensure timely completion and professional development
  • Comfortable interacting and leading discussions with peers, managers, and clients.
  • Demonstrates integrity, objectivity and a high standard of ethics
  • Participates in industry and community networking events to expand professional connections.

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree required, Masters preferred
  • CPA or JD required
  • International tax compliance experience required (minimum 5 years)
  • Advanced knowledge of outbound and inbound investment reporting required
  • Prior tax planning, restructuring, or consulting experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong research skills
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
  • Proven time management, organizational and prioritization skills
