Job description

What you'll do

Giga is building the electrical backbone of the AI era - transformers, switchgear, and modular data centers that power the world's most demanding compute deployments. We don't just sell into the infrastructure stack; we manufacture it, deploy it, and own the outcome. This is rare.

The Project Manager role sits at the center of that mission. You'll be the person who turns a signed contract into a live data center - orchestrating the moving parts, holding teams accountable, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. If you want to physically build the infrastructure that powers AI, this is the job.

Where you'll work

We are an in-office culture - velocity matters when you're building physical infrastructure, and the best decisions happen in the room. This role is ideally based in our San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston offices, with full-time onsite expectations outside of bi-weekly WFH Fridays.

That said, we will make exceptions for truly exceptional talent if you live outside one of our hubs. If you're the right person for this role, we'll have a conversation about what works.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end project delivery for data center buildouts, from contract execution through commissioning and handoff
  • Build and maintain detailed project schedules, milestone trackers, and budget logs across concurrent deployments
  • Coordinate daily across internal teams (engineering, procurement, finance, manufacturing) and external partners (EPCs, GCs, utilities, customers)
  • Identify risks early, escalate fast, and drive resolution - not status updates
  • Run structured project reviews with senior leadership, surfacing blockers and decision points clearly
  • Hold vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders accountable to commitments
  • Build repeatable systems and processes that scale as our data center pipeline grows
  • Produce concise, decision-ready documentation: project plans, risk registers, change logs, executive summaries
Requirements
  • 4-8 years of project management experience in data centers, construction, energy infrastructure, or complex capital projects
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering large-scale physical projects on schedule and within budget
  • Strong command of project management fundamentals: scheduling (MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent), cost tracking, risk management, change control
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and external contractors without direct authority
  • High ownership mentality - you close loops, you don't wait to be asked twice
  • Clear, direct communicator comfortable presenting to C-suite and customer stakeholders
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-moving environments where the playbook is still being written
Bonus points
  • Experience with modular or prefabricated data center deployments
  • Familiarity with electrical infrastructure (transformers, switchgear, MV/LV systems)
  • PMP, PE, or equivalent certification
  • Background working directly with hyperscalers, neo-cloud customers, or colocation operators
Benefits
  • Subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Equity (options) in a rapidly growing startup
  • 401(k) with 4% employer match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Parental leave
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Commuter benefits
