Position Overview

Intermountain Healthcare & Recovery Center is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team. This full-time position offers a unique remote work setting while serving clients primarily through our outpatient office based in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities

The Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist will take on various key responsibilities, including:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mood disorders and mental health symptoms.
  • Collaborating with clients to create individualized treatment plans aligned with their goals and therapeutic needs.
  • Implementing evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address a range of mental health issues.
  • Providing education and support to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
  • Continuously monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment plans based on their evolving needs.
  • Engaging in collaborative care with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment.
  • Staying informed about the latest research and developments in mood disorder treatment to enhance therapy delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The therapist will work closely with a diverse clientele, including individuals and families grappling with various mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related issues, and substance use disorders. Our focus is on cultivating a safe space where clients can openly discuss their challenges and work towards meaningful recovery. Your insights and interventions will play a crucial role in their healing journey.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with clients through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, understanding, and a nonjudgmental attitude towards clients’ experiences and challenges.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with the following experiences will be given preference:

  • Experience in addiction counseling, particularly dealing with co-occurring disorders.
  • Familiarity with additional therapeutic modalities or evidence-based practices.
  • Previous work in private practice or outpatient settings.
