This position supports the Assured Access to Space Mission Solutions Acquisition Delta and various satellite program offices as part of a collaborative team responsible for successfully planning and executing a wide variety of activities leading up to a satellite's launch. Successful applicant responsibilities may include procedure development, launch vehicle interface control, mission readiness support, and launch campaign operations. Other responsibilities may include analysis facilitation and disposition of technical, programmatic, and schedule issues, and exercise of Day of launch anomaly processes and decision-making during launch rehearsals.
This role involves working closely with assigned government and contractor mission teams that may be augmented by many other elements as required to support needed manufacturing surveillance, product integrity assessments, risk management, technical evaluations, requirements development and verification, independent validation and verification, launch base surveillance, and related post flight analysis.
The successful applicant will organize face-to-face meetings and teleconferences and review technical and programmatic documentation related to assigned missions.
Work will primarily be conducted at Los Angeles AFB, CA with travel in the United States to support successful execution of NSSL missions.
Qualifications:
At least 10 years of experience in space or launch programs and familiarity with launch vehicle missions, performance, integration, and processing
- At least 7 years Program Management experience
- Experience with USAF, NRO, or USSF Systems Engineering and Acquisition processes
- Must be able to work independently
- Ability to work proficiently on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
- Ability to influence without authority, working with technical and cross-functional teams
Education:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or in STEM
Security Clearance & Other Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen with Secret Clearance; ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Compensation:
The typical salary pay range for this position is USD $155,000 - $185,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, and a full benefits package including a significant profit-sharing retirement savings plan.
