What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote insurance verification specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Insurance Verification Specialist, you need a solid understanding of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and experience with insurance verification processes, often supported by a high school diploma or relevant certification. Proficiency in insurance portals, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and spreadsheet software is typically required. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication are essential soft skills for handling sensitive patient data and coordinating with providers. These abilities are vital to ensure accurate insurance verification, prevent claim denials, and support smooth healthcare operations.

What are some common challenges faced in a remote insurance verification role, and how can I overcome them?

In a remote insurance verification role, one common challenge is navigating varying insurance policies and provider requirements, which can lead to delays or errors if not carefully reviewed. Communication can also be more complex when collaborating virtually with healthcare providers, patients, or insurance companies. To overcome these challenges, staying organized with detailed documentation, utilizing reliable communication tools, and proactively clarifying any uncertainties with team members or clients can help maintain efficiency and accuracy. Regular training and staying updated on industry changes also contribute to success in this role.

Job description

Description
Licensed Clinician - LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Psychologist
Practice Independently. Never Practice Alone.
Location: 100% Remote or Hybrid (Encino, Lancaster, or Riverside)
Schedule: Part-Time with the opportunity to transition into Full-Time
Compensation: $57-67 per hour (W-2 Employee)
You Became Licensed to Focus on Client Care. We Help Make That Possible.
At Find Your Balance, Center for Growth & Change, we believe licensed clinicians should be able to spend their time where it matters most-providing exceptional care to clients.
You've already invested years developing your clinical expertise. Our role is to provide the infrastructure, referrals, administrative support, and environment that allow you to practice confidently without carrying the burden of running a private practice alone.
Whether you're looking to supplement your current practice, transition into group practice, or build a long-term career with an organization that values collaboration and accountability, we're committed to supporting your professional success.
If you're looking for a place where you'll have autonomy in your clinical work while remaining connected to an experienced and supportive team, we'd love to meet you.
Why Choose Find Your Balance?
Many group practices offer flexibility. Others offer referrals.
We believe exceptional clinicians deserve an organization that supports both their clients and their careers.
Practice the Way You Were Trained
We remove as many administrative barriers as possible so you can focus on clinical care.
Our team manages:
  • Insurance billing and claims
  • Scheduling support
  • Credentialing and payer enrollment
  • Client referrals and intake coordination
  • Administrative communication and client support

Rather than spending your time managing a business, you'll spend your time doing what you do best-helping clients.
Join a Collaborative Clinical Community
Private practice doesn't have to feel isolating.
As part of our team, you'll have access to:
  • Peer consultation opportunities
  • Leadership support when complex clinical situations arise
  • A culture that values consultation, ethical practice, and continuous professional growth

We believe collaboration strengthens clinical care.
Our Investment in You
Great clinicians deserve great support.
When you join Find Your Balance, you'll receive:
  • Consistent referrals to support a healthy and sustainable caseload
  • Administrative support for scheduling, billing, credentialing, and insurance verification
  • Ongoing leadership support and opportunities for clinical consultation
  • Exposure to organizational growth opportunities as they become available
  • A collaborative culture built on professionalism, accountability, and mutual respect
  • The flexibility to focus on your clinical strengths while we manage the operational details

Our goal is to create an environment where clinicians can thrive professionally while providing exceptional care to clients.
Caseload & Accountability Expectations
At Find Your Balance, accountability supports both clinician success and quality client care.
Licensed clinicians are expected to:
  • Maintain a minimum average caseload of 13 completed clinical sessions per week (26 per pay period)
  • Maintain sufficient appointment availability (16-20 client bookings per week) to support referrals, client continuity, and scheduling needs
  • Complete all clinical documentation within 24 hours of each session
  • Communicate proactively regarding schedule changes, availability, and planned time off
  • Maintain professionalism, ethical practice, and timely communication with clients and colleagues
  • Participate in consultation and organizational communication as appropriate

Our goal is to create consistency for clients while providing clinicians with the flexibility and support needed to build a sustainable practice.
What Success Looks Like
The clinicians who thrive on our team combine strong clinical judgment with professionalism, accountability, and collaboration.
Successful clinicians:
  • Build meaningful therapeutic relationships
  • Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care
  • Maintain reliable schedules and consistent client availability
  • Complete documentation accurately and on time
  • Take ownership of their caseload and professional responsibilities
  • Communicate proactively with clients
  • Seek consultation when clinically appropriate
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture
  • Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to lifelong learning

In return, we provide the systems, referrals, administrative support, and collaborative environment that allow you to focus on providing exceptional care.
Benefits
All clinicians begin in a part-time position with the opportunity to transition into full-time employment.
Part-Time Benefits
All part-time clinicians receive:
  • Accrued paid sick leave (up to 40 hours annually, in accordance with California law)
  • Monthly work-from-home stipend
  • Paid professional liability (malpractice) insurance
  • Access to our retirement savings plan
  • Administrative support for scheduling, billing, insurance verification, and credentialing

Additional Full-Time Benefits
Once eligible for full-time employment, clinicians also receive:
  • Paid vacation time
  • Two floating holidays
  • $200 monthly Kaiser health insurance contribution

Full-time benefits become available after 60 days of eligibility.
Who Thrives Here?
This role is ideal for clinicians who are:
  • Passionate about providing exceptional client care
  • Professional, dependable, and accountable
  • Comfortable working independently while valuing collaboration
  • Committed to ethical, evidence-based practice
  • Organized and proactive in managing their caseload
  • Interested in being part of a supportive and growing organization
  • Motivated to contribute to a positive, collaborative culture

If you're looking for a place where you can practice with autonomy while remaining connected to an experienced team, we'd love to hear from you.
Join Find Your Balance and spend less time managing a practice and more time making a difference.
