Job Description:

GDIT is hiring a Principal Program/Data Analyst to support the data collection and analysis efforts involved with overseeing the implementation of a government program with respect to the care and placement of participants in a network of care providers. The Data Analyst will enhance and develop reporting and analytics capabilities, support forecast modeling, develop automated reporting solutions and dashboards, build briefing products, conduct and deliver analyses, and coordinate/implement data collection efforts. The Data Analyst role will be allocated across three core functions. The first is to support the regular reporting of program metrics to senior leadership and any adjacent federal agencies who may depend on program data. The second function will be to both initiate and lead longer term information management projects that combine data across various disciplines with the goal of yielding new and actionable insights for program leaders. Lastly, the Data Analyst may be asked to support any ad-hoc information requests or technical needs which arise within the program itself.Position Duties:
  • Work within federal staff led functional lanes to enhance the collection and analysis of program data.
  • Update and develop on-site data collection tools and processes to yield statistically reliable and informative data and support field program assessments.
  • Assist in identifying performance outcomes and indicators.
  • Identify uniform data points and conduct high-level data interpretation/analysis using a data analytics platform.
  • Prepare written summaries and presentations that reflect the results of the data analysis and present findings to agency leadership.
  • Oversee the quality and the production of both routine and ad hoc analytical reports.
  • Assist in the training of contractor and field staff on the use of data collection and analysis tools.
  • Support with projects that promote the continual improvement of data analysis.
  • Compile, analyze, and visualize data using a data visualization platform such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Build data repositories/databases and provide ad-hoc data reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, data analytics, or similar degree with at least 7-8 years of experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data interpretation and analysis. Master's degree preferred.
  • High degree of familiarity working with sensitive-PII and integrity in protecting customer data.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization platforms (Tableau or Power BI) and scripting languages (R, Python).
  • Working knowledge of SQL and familiarity with relational databases.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and VBA.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with immigrants, refugees, and underserved populations is preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust.
Top candidates will have specialties in one or more of the following areas:
  • Statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Natural language processing.
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Data engineering and experience working with large datasets, performing tasks such as data cleaning and processing (ETL).
  • Solid knowledge of SQL including CTE's.

  • Python and/or R.

  • Tableau.

  • Palantir.

  • Linux and ability to maintain a Linux server.

The likely salary range for this position is $124,093 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
