Xylem is seeking a Regional Field Service Technician - Water Treatment (Municipal) to support customers across the U.S. and Canada through the installation, startup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of advanced municipal water treatment systems.
In this role, you'll work directly with customers in the field to help ensure critical water and wastewater systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician who enjoys travel, problem-solving, and working with complex electrical and control systems.
What Your Day Will Look Like as a Regional Field Service Technician
As a Regional Field Service Technician, you'll travel to customer sites to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of municipal water treatment equipment and systems.
This role works with a variety of advanced mechanical, electrical, and control systems and requires a strong technical background, customer-focused communication, and the ability to work independently in the field. You'll collaborate closely with customers, project teams, and internal support groups to help deliver safe and successful project outcomes.
A typical work week includes travel on Monday and Friday, with field service work performed Tuesday through Thursday at customer locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

What We're Looking For in a Regional Field Service Technician
  • Experience servicing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems in industrial or municipal environments
  • Experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment, VFDs, conduit, grounding, and three-phase electrical systems
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, network troubleshooting, and controls systems
  • Ability to read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), electrical drawings, and system layouts
  • Experience with instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, and temperature sensors
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Ability to perform equipment startup, commissioning, functional testing, and preventative maintenance
  • Comfortable conducting customer training sessions and communicating technical information clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple customer locations and priorities
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) policies
  • Green Belt Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with ServiceMax is a plus
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport for travel within the U.S. and Canada

Travel & Schedule
  • Greater than 75% travel throughout the U.S. and Canada
  • Typical schedule includes travel on Monday and Friday, with onsite field work Tuesday-Thursday
  • Work environments may include offices, manufacturing facilities, construction sites, and municipal water or wastewater treatment plants
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work around operating industrial equipment as needed

Starting Pay: From $28.34/hour (plus opportunities for higher pay based on experience, skills, and location)
