Job description

Business Development Manager - Fenestration & Screen Systems
Location: Remote, United States | Convenient access to a major commercial airport preferred
Travel: Regular nationwide travel
Competitive base salary plus performance-based incentive. Additional details will be provided during the recruiting process.
About the Role
Our client, an established international manufacturer of specialty textile and technical material solutions, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive the continued growth of its premium insect screening product portfolio in the U.S. market.
This opportunity is well suited for a commercially driven professional with experience in insect screening, screen systems, fenestration, shading/sun protection, or a closely related segment of the window and door industry who understands the market, enjoys developing new customer relationships, and is comfortable building business across a nationwide territory.
The company has established a U.S. subsidiary and has already developed initial customer relationships and a growing pipeline of market opportunities. CRM and sales processes, U.S.-based support, product samples, and logistics resources are in place to support continued customer development.
The Business Development Manager will take ownership of the next phase of U.S. market growth, with a focus on expanding the customer and partner base and converting market opportunities into sustainable, recurring business.
As the company's first dedicated U.S. business development professional, this position offers a high degree of visibility, ownership, and direct access to senior leadership. As the U.S. business grows, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on broader commercial responsibilities and play an increasingly important role in shaping the company's U.S. organization.
The Product & Market Opportunity
The company offers a premium, high-transparency insect screening solution designed to combine strong airflow and visibility with the durability required for everyday residential screening applications.
Following positive initial market response and first commercial traction in the United States, the company is now investing in a dedicated local business development presence to accelerate growth across the U.S. screening and fenestration market.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new business opportunities across the U.S. market
  • Identify, approach, and acquire new B2B customers and strategic channel partners
  • Build and expand relationships with insect screen system providers, screen fabricators, fenestration distributors, franchise and multi-location screen installation organizations, specialty dealers, and other relevant industry partners
  • Develop selected opportunities with window and door manufacturers and other companies within the broader fenestration value chain
  • Understand customer applications and distribution models and identify opportunities where the company's screening solutions can add commercial and product value
  • Manage opportunities from initial product introduction and sampling through commercial orders and repeat business
  • Build long-term customer relationships through regular in-person interaction and a consultative sales approach
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry trade shows, and relevant market events throughout the United States
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, customer requirements, and potential new applications
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and customer activity within the company's CRM
  • Provide market feedback and customer insights to product and management teams
  • Coordinate closely with the company's international headquarters, U.S.-based support resources, logistics partners, and other internal stakeholders

Success in this role will be measured by the ability to develop qualified opportunities, acquire new customers, and build sustainable recurring business in the U.S. market.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will combine relevant industry knowledge with strong business development and relationship-building capabilities.
Direct insect screen experience is highly valuable, but candidates from closely related market segments who understand the customer base, distribution landscape, and relevant decision-makers are also encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate brings:
  • Relevant B2B sales or business development experience within insect screening, screen systems, fenestration, shading/sun protection, window and door products, or a closely related market
  • Familiarity with the U.S. fenestration and screening industry and its distribution channels
  • Existing relationships with system providers, screen fabricators, distributors, installation organizations, manufacturers, specialty dealers, or other relevant industry contacts are strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to develop new customers and grow business rather than exclusively manage an established account base
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage credibly with business owners, commercial leaders, purchasing teams, and other customer stakeholders
  • A self-directed and entrepreneurial working style combined with the ability to collaborate effectively within an international organization
  • Commercial judgment and the ability to communicate the value of a differentiated technical product
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Comfort using CRM systems
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the United States

Experience working with an international or European-headquartered organization is helpful but not required.
