JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Department of Entomology in the College of Agricultural Sciences is seeking applicants for part-time job of curation assistant for the summer 2026 semester to assist with curation and identification of arthropod specimens received and collected by the Insect Identification Lab.

Job duties to include:

  • Curate arthropod samples, including pinning or pointing specimens as ap propriate, preserving in ethanol, and labelling
  • Identify curated specimens to the family-, genus-, or species-level
  • Database specimens following Darwin Core standards

Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:

  • Interest in insect biodiversity and museum collections
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Prior study of insect biodiversity preferred but not required.

Hourlyrate: $15/hour.
