Position Overview

New Beginnings Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a remote telehealth capacity. In this full-time role, you will provide professional mental health services to a diverse clientele, working to enhance their emotional and psychological well-being. You will be instrumental in conducting mental health evaluations, developing tailored treatment plans, and facilitating impactful therapy interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial interviews to gather pertinent emotional and psychological data, ensuring accurate documentation throughout the treatment process.
  • Assess client mental, behavioral, and emotional health through evidence-based evaluation methods, facilitating the development of effective treatment plans.
  • Develop customized intervention and recovery plans for a variety of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups, tailored to each unique situation.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing a range of therapeutic techniques to promote growth and healing.
  • Continually monitor client progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to optimize mental health outcomes throughout the recovery journey.
  • Work collaboratively with various healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to create comprehensive care plans that address all aspects of the clientโ€™s health.
  • Provide follow-up support for clients transitioning from inpatient to outpatient care, ensuring a smooth and effective continuation of their treatment.
  • Identify risk factors and behaviors that may impede recovery, implementing proactive strategies to address and mitigate these issues.
  • Support family members and caregivers with practical guidance and emotional support as they assist loved ones dealing with mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse range of clients, including adolescents, adults, and families facing a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Your role will focus on understanding each clientโ€™s unique background and circumstances, allowing you to provide sensitive and tailored interventions that promote healing and recovery.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Texas.
  • A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is a must.
  • Sound knowledge of the current best practices and developments in psychotherapy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for client interaction and documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, characterized by a sympathetic nature and commitment to client welfare.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, providing direct therapeutic services.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as AVATAR for efficient case management and documentation.
  • A background in handling clients with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, and knowledge of addiction disorders.
  • Understanding of the effects and management of psychiatric medications on mental health.
Compensation and Benefits
