GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


Our Executive team is recruiting for a physician licensed in the State of Georgia to join our team at Fairland Recovery Center in the role of Medical Director. The Medical Director is a vital member of the Fairland Recovery Center System of Care.  The Medical Director is under the supervision of the CEO / COO / President and is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of patients as they go through the treatment process. 


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides medical supervision for all psychiatric care staff.
  • Provides Program Development Insight the Fairland Recovery Center Patient Care Plan.
  • Provide guidance and leadership for performance guidelines.
  • Active member of the Treatment Team.
  • The Medical Director participates in administrative decision making and recommends and approves policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to evaluate medical needs of the patient and work with multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health.
  • Review at a minimum of 10% of client charts monthly and make notes regarding care as needed.
  • Provides Review of the list below of medical charting documentation
    • UA standing order (updated monthly)
    • Review UAs and add notes when positive of course of action with clinical.
    • HIV screen (review weekly)
    • Medical screen (self-report reviewed day of admission)
    • Pain screen
    • Nutritional screen
    • Psych evaluation (within 1-2 treatment days facilitated by ARNP signed by Medical Director within 24-48 hours after completion)
  • Expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with FRC’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.  Failure to comply with FRC’s policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment / contract.
  • May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties.  The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need-to-know specific patient information to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other FRC operations.
  • Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding FRC’s policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • M.D. or D.O. Degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in psychiatric-mental health or primary care with relevant psychiatric-mental health experience.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and standard specimen panel for illicit drug use.
  • If in recovery, must have at least five (5) years of clean time.


CERTIFICATES / LICENSES:


  • Valid Driver’s License and vehicle in good working condition
  • Valid State of Georgia Medical License as a Psychiatrist required.
  • The provider must be eligible for third-party reimbursement.
  • Must have DEA certificate and either have or be eligible to obtain xWaiver for MAT treatments.


EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ Years of Experience in Psychiatric / Behavioral Health / Mental Health Practice
  • Experience with inpatient or outpatient mental health environments is preferred but not required.
