  • Develop and implement targeted, individualized treatment plans that focus on the psychological aspects of end-of-life care.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support patients dealing with anxiety, depression, and anticipatory grief.
  • Lead individual and group therapy sessions to facilitate emotional expression, coping strategies, and personal growth among patients and their families.
  • Collaborate closely with hospice staff and medical professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care, enhancing overall treatment outcomes.
  • Offer crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies, addressing the mental health needs of patients and their families promptly.
  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions through psychoeducation, fostering a better understanding of available resources.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for all services provided, adhering to ethical and legal standards to ensure the integrity of patient information.

The primary clientele for this position includes patients in varying stages of life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families. You will work directly with individuals grappling with end-of-life transitions, navigating grief and loss, and those with co-occurring mental health issues. Your role will significantly influence their overall experience, offering comfort and support during one of the most challenging times in their lives.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is required.
  • A valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or similar credential.
  • At least two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health disorders, trauma-informed care, and treatment modalities appropriate for end-of-life issues.
  • Proficiency in conducting thorough mental health assessments and developing treatment plans.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills, with the capacity to maintain composure in high-stress environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and professional standards pertaining to mental health documentation.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, additional experience in hospice care or working with terminally ill patients will be highly valued. Advanced certifications in grief counseling or palliative care are advantageous and will enhance your application.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role is competitive, ranging from USD 60,000 to USD 104,000, commensurate with experience and credentials. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health and well-being, including:
