Job description


The Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, longevity, and safety of equipment, systems, and processes at the facilities through the application of reliability engineering principles. This role is centered on minimizing unplanned downtime, reducing lifecycle maintenance costs, and enhancing asset integrity by means of proactive analysis, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement. Key areas of focus include failure mode identification, root cause analysis, development of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, lifecycle cost evaluation, and technical guidance to the maintenance and operations teams. The Reliability Engineer works in close collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, and Planner/Scheduler to continuously improve asset performance and maintenance effectiveness.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:

•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
•Minimum 4-6 years of experience in reliability engineering, asset integrity, or maintenance engineering in industrial facilities; fuel terminals, LPG/petrochemical plants, or refineries preferred.
•Demonstrated experience applying reliability methodologies: RCA, FMEA, RCM, PMO, RBI, and/or PdM programs.
•Experience with CMMS platforms for asset management, work order analysis, and KPI reporting.
•Familiarity with applicable standards and regulations: API 510, API 570, API 653, ASME, NFPA, OSHA, EPA (preferred).
•Certification in reliability (CRE - ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer) or asset management (IAM, CAMA) is a plus.
Skills:
•Strong analytical capability: ability to collect, process, and interpret reliability data to drive actionable conclusions.
•Proficiency in RCA methodologies (5-Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree Analysis, RCFA).
•Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment drawings, inspection reports, and technical specifications.
•Working knowledge of condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, NDT).
•Effective written and verbal communication in Spanish; working proficiency in English for technical documentation.
•Proficiency with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office tools.
