Job description

Equivity is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to support attorneys handling motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, slip and fall, dog bite, wrongful death, product liability, catastrophic injury, workers' compensation, and other negligence-based cases. You'll join a long-term remote team supporting attorneys while receiving ongoing support from Equivity's operations and leadership.

This is an assignment-based opportunity designed for paralegals who value the flexibility of remote work and enjoy supporting a variety of law firms and matters across the country. As client needs evolve, assignments and workload may vary based on business demand. This role is a good fit for an experienced paralegal who values professional flexibility and is comfortable with a workload that can fluctuate rather than requiring a guaranteed number of weekly hours from the outset.

When actively supporting clients, responsiveness is important. Because client needs can arise on short notice, paralegals are expected to remain responsive to their active clients and Equivity managers within one hour during their stated availability.

If you're an experienced paralegal who appreciates autonomy, remote flexibility, and the opportunity to work with multiple legal teams, this assignment-based model may be a strong fit.

What You'll Do
  • Manage personal injury cases from intake through settlement or litigation
  • Draft correspondence, demand packages, pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and settlement documents
  • Collect and summarize medical records, bills, police reports, and other evidence
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Track statutes, deadlines, treatment, and case milestones
  • Coordinate e-filings, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
  • Assist with settlement administration, lien resolution, and case closing

About You
  • 3+ years of personal injury paralegal experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Available at least 20 hours/week to start
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Clio, Filevine, CASEpeer, or similar software is a plus
  • Windows-based computer preferred
  • Responsive during standard business hours (9:00 AM–6:00 PM)

Compensation and Work Structure
  • W-2 employment
  • Compensation: $26 per hour
  • Assignment-based work with client assignments determined by demand, qualifications, and availability
  • Assignment volume and hours may vary
  • Client assignments may take time to develop and are not guaranteed immediately upon joining

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid sick time
  • Annual performance bonus
  • 6-month performance review with potential pay increase
  • Expense reimbursement
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Supportive long-term remote work environment
