Role Overview
The VP of AI Innovation - OCR/Image Recognition, will lead innovation, development, and execution of next generation AI-driven OCR and Image Recognition capabilities. This role will focus on all aspects of Image processing, extraction of data and classification of data elements in the document. This person will be responsible for understanding industry/client needs, driving innovation, defining roadmap, prioritizing roadmap, leading development and ongoing innovation. The candidate must have strong background in OCR and Image processing in Retail/Consumer space at a large-scale (with millions of documents processed daily), high availability and high accuracy/precision solutions. Strong leadership and high-performance team building/management experience is critical.
Job Responsibilities
  • Strategy and Leadership: Define and execute the vision of building and leveraging state-of-the-art OCR capabilities to solve complex business problems in Retail/Consumer space.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various product groups to identify application and opportunities. Partner with other Product and Engineering teams to develop and integrate these capabilities.
  • Innovation: Drive innovation to drive new capabilities and continue to improve KPIs of existing capabilities (speed, cost, accuracy, coverage).
  • Technology and scale: Lead the development of capabilities that can execute at large scale (millions of documents everyday with response in seconds), high accuracy and precision.
  • Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all extraction activities adhere to legal and ethical standards
  • Team Building: Recruit and lead a specialized team focused in this area

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in the relevant field
  • Masters or higher education in the relevant field
  • Experience in Retail, Consumer and/or related industry is required
  • Extensive expertise in OCR and Image processing technologies
  • Deep expertise in science/algorithms used for extraction and classification of data at scale
  • Demonstrated experience developing high throughput scalable systems with high degree of accuracy and precision

  • Strong problem-solving skills, innovation driven, customer obsessed - entrepreneurial attitude and behavior
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Experience working with global distributes teams

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $230,000 USD to $236,000 USD.
This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
