We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer-Ignition experience for our client in the Engineering Solutions domain. Primary Skills: Engineering/ Automation Engineer

Role Description: The Controls Engineer must have 2-7 years of experience. In this role, you will be responsible for engineering project requirements involving DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, hardware designs, network architecture design, instrumentation/electrical designs, check-out/start-up support, etc.

This role is hybrid.

Note: This is an Engineering job, and we need a Controls/Automation Engineer (Not a Software Developer).

Responsibilities:

Technical

- Deliver process control systems including DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, hardware designs, network architecture design, instrumentation/electrical designs, check-out/start-up support, etc.

- Learn, follow, and seek to streamline/improve project execution tools, standards and techniques

- Follow guidance from lead engineer to provide process Control System software/hardware design, development and startup

- Prepare supporting project documenting (examples include user requirements, architecture, control narratives, cause & effect diagrams, test plans, user training, etc.

- Routinely test your work to ensure quality, accuracy, safety and alignment to project requirements

Project Management:

- Provide status reporting to your project manager regarding activities/deliverables progress-to-date, hours estimate-to-complete, needs/obstacles to meeting project schedule, etc.

- Identifies potential roadblocks to completing tasks efficiently and on schedule

- Provide input to project risks, best practice, lessons learned, etc. related to your project activities

- Address customer requests and evaluate them versus the defined scope of assigned projects

- Actively participate in internal and customer meetings

Sales and Business Development:

- Identify opportunities to build relationships with client members of their assigned projects

- Provide input to proposals and estimates

- Seek to understand customer needs such that client may offer additional scope and/or services

Project-Specific (First Assignment)

- Support in Migration from existing Wonderware systems to Ignition Vision. This is end-to-end migration, reverse engineer WW system, where we migrate entire brownfield assets, alarms, and historical data to Ignition. Follow the Ignition Standards developed in another region to migrate these assets. S88 model

- Work with customers to understand their requirements, review the filed device connectivity with Ignition by working with automation, configuring those devices on a dev environment (Tags, Graphics, Alarms), testing, rollouts to few locations, training respective division SCADA teams on that new setup

- Daily support on existing Ignition sites

- Develop Ignition Perspective Mobile Projects for requested facilities

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

- BS Degree in Engineering (preference for Electrical/Controls, Chemical, Computer or Mechanical).

General:

- Strong leadership and client relation skills

- Exceptional verbal and written ability with the aptitude to communicate professionally with clients and project leadership

- Good engineering and good documentation practice.

- Experience (or willingness) to use collaboration tools (such as SharePoint) to work effectively within remote teams

Required Experience:

- 2+ years of the following including multiple phases of a controls project: system design, development, commissioning/startup and training of customers.

- Ability to read design input documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, I/O list, control narratives, cause and effect diagrams, control panel layouts, testing acceptance criteria, etc.

- Has working knowledge of standard programming languages such as Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text and Function Block Diagrams

- Experience with at least one standard programming language such as C++, JavaScript, Python, .NET, etc.

- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
