SCADA GeoSCADA & Ignition – Mid to lead level – specialized

Job Description
The GeoSCADA and Ignition SCADA Developer will drive improvements to the customer SCADA system, working independently or as part of a team, to ensure user experience excellence. Must be passionate about technology, SCADA development, and contributing to the success of the team. Needs to work closely with customers to solve data-intensive challenges and deliver on multiple projects within various time periods. A cloud computing architect, designer, and developer would be ideal for this candidate.
Job Responsibilities
 

  • Engaged in all phases of the Ignition SCADA development lifecycle, which include: gathering and analyzing user/business system requirements, responding to outages, and creating application system models.
  • Create standards for SCADA development that provide governance on how to scale across projects for rapid deployment
  • Participate in design meetings and consult with internal customers to create, refine, test, and debug programs to meet business needs
  • Develop, test,t and implement new SCADA programs on time
  • Ensure the design and development of SCADA solutions properly fulfill all business requirements
  • Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
  • Design and update SCADA system to interface with such applications as:  FlowCal, ProCount, WellView, AWS, etc
  • Test, maintain, and recommend SCADA improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization
  • Specific programming skills needed are Python, VBScript, Java, SQL, and scripting.
  • Experience with multiple SCADA systems is preferred, including Wonderware, GeoScada, Telvent, Cygnet, Ignition, and Citect.
  • Having experience with the following drivers and protocols is ideal: ABB Total Flow, Emerson ROC 800L, FB3000, Allen-Bradley, ScadaPak, Modbus, OPC, MQTT, and native protocols.
  • Work with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code, and/or perform unit testing
  • Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability and performance
  • Resolve complex technical design issues
  • Development of technical specifications and plans
  • Make good technical decisions that provide solutions to business challenges
  • Provide comprehensive support to internal customers; achieve resolution to outstanding problems or issues
  • Compile timely, comprehensive, and accurate documentation and or reports as requested
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of technological developments in the industry
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers
  • Multi-task and change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure

Work Environment:

The environment is currently considered “Remote” or “Work from Home”.  The position must be available during normal business hours (8 AM- 5:30 PM CST), with occasional on-call rotation to support the client's needs.
