This role will utilize a remote work setting, with a focus on outpatient services. The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Conducting Initial Diagnostic Assessments to formulate a comprehensive treatment plan that includes crisis planning, clinical summaries, and diagnostic tools like the Gains and Locus evaluations.
• Administering thorough assessments to identify the root causes of client challenges, establishing robust therapeutic strategies to foster recovery.
• Maintaining accurate documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) to track client progress and treatment adjustments.
• Providing individualized care through a mix of modalities, including face-to-face sessions and telehealth consultations.
• Participating in clinical meetings and interdisciplinary discussions to ensure collaborative care strategies and continuous improvement in service delivery.
• Engaging in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance therapeutic techniques and methodologies.
• Providing crisis intervention and diversion strategies to effectively manage acute client crises.
• Collaborating with clients’ families to monitor treatment responses and implement necessary adjustments in care plans.
• Supervising and mentoring junior therapists and interns to uphold quality care standards.
• Participating in on-call services and weekend holiday coverage as part of a collaborative team effort.

The successful candidate will be equipped to engage with clients from varying cultural backgrounds, socioeconomic status, and life experiences, providing culturally sensitive care and solutions tailored to each individual’s unique challenges.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree in a human services-related field.
• Current licensure in the District of Columbia as either a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
• Strong active listening skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in EHR systems for documentation and data management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective interactions with clients, team members, and external stakeholders.
• A proven ability to work independently as well as collaborate successfully with a team.
• Demonstrated ability to manage stress and time effectively while meeting productivity benchmarks.
• The ability to pass a DC & FBI criminal background check.

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in crisis intervention, case management, and working with diverse populations in a mental health setting. Familiarity with state and federal regulations regarding mental health practices, including HIPAA compliance, is also desirable.
