Position Details

The Claims Adjuster, Bodily Injury is responsible for oversight and handling of complex long haul trucking (LHT), towing, commercial general liability (CGL) and commercial automobile claims. Claims are moderate to severe in nature and the successful candidate will have a dynamic personality and the ability to excel in a high performance environment while ensuring claims are properly investigated, evaluated, and resolved in a timely manner.

  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate claims of varying complexity
  • Maintain control of expenses through pro-active handling techniques
  • Conduct technical audits to monitor quality, activity, reserving and expenses
  • Handle and settle claims within prescribed authority
  • Remain up-to-date on industry trends and case law
  • Maintains strong proactive communication with all stakeholders
  • Identify and investigate subrogation opportunities
  • Manage salvage/recovery
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Manager

The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply. 

Who You Are 

  • 3-5 years of progressive casualty management claims experience
  • Knowledge of multiple US jurisdictions and strong dispute resolution skills
  • Knowledge of principles and practices in claims settlement, policy wording, fraud investigations and coverage issues
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and produce quality work with attention to detail and accuracy
  • CIP designation or working towards completion is preferred
  • Post-secondary education completed in a related field
