Job description

Vaco has partnered with a growing organization that is seeking an Interim Tax Compliance Specialist to support sales and use tax compliance functions. This role is ideal for a candidate with hands-on multi-state sales & use tax experience who can work independently and help support the internal team. Job Title: Interim Tax Compliance Specialist Location: Phoenix, AZ (remote – AZ candidates strongly preferred) Pay Rate: $50-70 per hour Project Duration: 3-6 months Responsibilities Include: Prepare sales and use tax returns using workpapers built from downloads out of Sage Intacct Research and prepare use tax analysis workpapers and report sales tax via online portals Support multi-state filing across several states and Tribal jurisdictions Work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Strong understanding of sales & use tax compliance in AZ and CA Experience in construction industry strongly preferred Proficiency in Excel required Vaco by Highspring values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
