Senior Human Resources Generalist

Starting at $75,000+

About My Community Dental Centers

My Community Dental Centers (MCDC) is a Michigan-based nonprofit dental network committed to improving oral health access across underserved communities — one smile at a time. We believe that exceptional patient care starts with exceptional people, and we are looking for a strategic HR leader who shares that conviction.

Position Summary

The Senior HR Generalist serves as a strategic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) embedded within the MCDC organization, providing consultative, client-facing HR support to leaders and employees across multiple dental center locations. This role goes beyond transactional HR — it requires a seasoned professional who can influence culture, drive workforce strategy, and serve as a trusted advisor at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic thinking, operational agility, and a genuine passion for people and mission-driven work.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Business Partnership

  • Serve as a dedicated HRBP to assigned client groups, building trusted relationships with leaders and frontline teams across center locations.
  • Provide proactive, data-informed HR counsel on workforce planning, organizational design, performance management, and talent development.
  • Partner with the CPO and leadership team to align people strategies with organizational goals and mission.
  • Travel up to 20% to center locations to provide on-site HR presence, support, and partnership.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Lead complex employee relations investigations with objectivity, thoroughness, and legal compliance.
  • Interpret and apply company policies, the Employee Handbook, and applicable federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, HIPAA, ERISA, I-9).
  • Advise managers on performance improvement, corrective action, and conflict resolution with a coaching mindset.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for assigned client groups, including sourcing, screening, offers, and credentialing for clinical staff.
  • Drive a best-in-class onboarding experience, ensuring new hires are set up for success from day one.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop role profiles, compensation recommendations, and workforce plans.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Provide compensation analysis and pay recommendations grounded in market data and internal equity.
  • Support annual benefits open enrollment and serve as an escalation point for employee benefits inquiries.
  • Administer and track leaves of absence including FMLA, short-term disability, and workers' compensation claims.

Coaching, Training & Culture

  • Design and facilitate leadership coaching sessions, soft skills training, and team effectiveness initiatives.
  • Champion employee recognition programs and engagement efforts that reinforce MCDC's culture and values.
  • Act as a culture ambassador — modeling and advocating for an inclusive, high-performance work environment.

HRIS & HR Operations

  • Maintain data integrity within the HRIS, including employee records, reporting, and workflow coordination.
  • Develop and present periodic HR metrics, dashboards, and workforce analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Support HR process improvement initiatives and contribute to the evolution of MCDC's people
