Job description

We are seeking experienced caregivers that live in the San Francisco Bay Area for full-time or part-time work. Days, nights, weekends, it is your choice. Starlight Caregivers provides aging life care management (Geriatric Care Management), as well as personal care and companion care for aging adults and the disabled so they can live safely at home. Our mission is to enhance the living quality of clients as well as their family members. We are based in Los Altos, Calif. and service all of the surrounding communities.
JOB SUMMARY:The Home Care Aide is responsible for the day-to-day provision of companionship and personal care services to the clients of Starlight Caregivers. This is a culture of compassion, of commitment to assisting seniors and individuals with disabilities remain as independent as possible in their homes for as long as feasible, of data-based decision making, of rigor in our delivery of the care management services, of highest standards of customer service and client satisfaction, and of steadfast commitment to high levels of staff training and support. The Home Care Aide works directly with the Supervisor (Client Care Coordinators) to assure that Starlight Caregivers is achieving its care outcomes and goals for our clients.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, and ACCOUNTABILITIES:The following duties and responsibilities reflect the essential functions for this job, but do not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Supervisor or Scheduler/Client Care Coordinator may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or for other reasons.
Assists with personal care activities (ADLs) including:
  • Universal Precautions
  • Locomotion/ambulation
  • Bed mobility and positioning
  • Transfer
  • Eating
  • Toileting
  • Continence care
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Bathing
  • Skin care
  • Protective supervision
  • Medication reminder

Assists with household tasks (ADLs) necessary to the client's healthcare needs, including:
  • Planning and preparing nutritious meals and assisting in feeding client as appropriate
  • Light housekeeping of client's environment, including linens and making bed
  • Assistance with managing the personal finances with client's authorization
  • Laundry of client's clothing and bedding
  • Shopping
  • Transportation

This is a remote position.
Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
