Position Overview

Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team. This full-time, remote position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, depending on experience and qualifications. As a vital member of our community health clinic, you will be instrumental in providing essential therapeutic services to children and families in need.

About the Organization

Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is committed to delivering comprehensive mental health support and resources to underserved populations. Our organization focuses on enhancing the lives of children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges, as well as supporting their families. With a dedicated team of professionals, we strive to foster resilience, recovery, and overall well-being within the communities we serve.

Work Environment

This role operates within a remote work setting, allowing for flexible communication and engagement with clients through virtual platforms. Our therapeutic services are primarily delivered in the clientโ€™s home or at our outpatient clinic, ensuring that care is accessible and tailored to the familyโ€™s needs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team as well as other specialists to ensure cohesive and effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual in-home treatment sessions as well as group therapy sessions tailored to the needs of the clients.
  • Implement strategies to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injury (SIB) and physical aggression by teaching essential anger management techniques, coping skills, and social skills.
  • Support caregivers by enhancing their decision-making abilities to effectively manage in-home behavioral challenges.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and follow-up reports according to established timelines.
  • Engage in regular team meetings, providing valuable recommendations that contribute towards optimizing client care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on providing therapeutic interventions for children ages 3 to 20 who are challenged by developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role requires a sensitive approach to understand and respond to the diverse needs of each child and their caregivers, creating a safe space for healing and growth.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
  • Possession of an active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential to practice in Maryland.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with flexibility for weekend availability strongly preferred.
  • Experience providing positive behavior support strategies is a must.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous work experience with children, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with collaborative treatment methodologies and interdisciplinary teamwork will enhance your candidacy.
  • Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in Spanish or Portuguese, are encouraged to apply due to the diverse demographic of our patient population.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary to travel to client homes.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required prior to employment.
Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually. In addition to a robust salary, employees are entitled to a range of benefits designed to promote overall well-being and work-life balance, including:

  • Comprehensive group health coverage.
  • Annual paid time off to recharge and focus on personal health.
  • Short and long-term disability coverage.
  • A 401(k) retirement plan to help secure your financial future.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance your skills and advance your career.

At Home and Community Mental Care, Inc., we are committed to fostering the professional growth of our employees. We provide continuous training and development programs to equip our staff with the latest therapeutic methodologies and skills.
