What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking an outstanding, hard working project leader with a passion for leading cutting-edge computer systems and technology integration efforts. Working with this innovative application engineering team, you will dive deep into product ownership responsibilities including requirements, customer needs, schedules, and financials while focusing on the work of the project team and achievements of the system solutions.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
  • Work with an innovative team with a variety of skills in multiple proficiency areas including: Requirements analysis, software assessment, systems integration, user interface/user experience, system architectures, data and knowledge management, deployment and maintenance, and systems testing and evaluation.
  • Define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
  • Provide leadership and tactical planning for the successful execution of technical information systems engineering projects with an end-to-end system view (requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, operations, and retirement).
  • Use risk assessments, requirements, and configuration management information to deliver project management Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) solutions to the Corporation.
  • Interact with customers, partners, project team members, and management to deliver information systems that align with cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Develop product plans, cost estimates, schedules, risk management plans, and other documentation required for the project.
    Identify potential issues, risks and contingency plans.

Salary Range
$102,400 - $199,700
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field plus five (5) years IT experience; OR Associates degree in computer-related field plus nine (9) years' IT experience; OR Master's degree in computer-related field plus one (1) year of IT experience.
  • Experience in IT project management.
  • Experience with full software development life-cycle using iterative or agile methods.
  • An active DOE L security clearance, or equivalent is required to start.

About Our Team
The Sandia Enterprise Project Management Team, Department 9743, operates and maintains enterprise project management and earned value tools used to plan, execute, monitor, and report cost, schedule, scope, risk, and other project management deliverables. These tools provide effective program/project management for the Corporation in collaboration with the Project Management Office (PMO). These systems also ensure the corporation operates and meets the requirements of a compliant Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
Posting Duration

Security Clearance
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) L security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE L-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.
Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.
