Job description

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support our day-to-day HR operations. This position will be responsible for maintaining employee records, assisting with the recruitment process, managing onboarding/offboarding, among other support functions. The ideal candidate is a discreet professional with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Records Maintenance: Maintain accurate, up-to-date digital and physical employee files, including contracts and personal information.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding: Coordinate new hire onboarding, including preparing paperwork, and conducting orientation.
  • Recruitment Support: Post job openings, screen resumes, and schedule interviews.
  • Payroll Support: Assist with payroll preparation by tracking time-off and updating HRIS with employee data.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws, policy updates and reviews as needed
  • Immigration: Track employees on status, submit paperwork for visa applications and renewals
  • Special Projects and miscellaneous job duties as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience as an HR Administrator, HR Assistant, HR Generalist, or in a similar role.
  • Systems Proficiency: Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidentiality: High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Organization: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Typical Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in an office setting and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to work remotely and at both our Southfield and Troy offices
