What are some common challenges faced by remote holistic healers, and how can they be managed?

Remote holistic healers often encounter challenges such as building trust and rapport with clients without in-person interaction, maintaining clear communication across digital platforms, and ensuring client privacy and confidentiality. To manage these, practitioners can utilize secure and reliable telehealth platforms, schedule regular video check-ins to foster connection, and establish clear communication guidelines. Continuing education in virtual client engagement and staying updated on telehealth best practices can also help remote holistic healers thrive.

What is remote holistic healing?

Remote holistic healing is a practice where a healer provides energy-based or integrative therapeutic services to clients who are not physically present, often using video calls, phone sessions, or other digital communication tools. The approach emphasizes treating the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—by addressing underlying imbalances or blockages in energy. Techniques may include Reiki, guided meditation, chakra balancing, or distance energy work. Clients seek remote holistic healing for stress relief, emotional support, and overall well-being, benefiting from the convenience and accessibility of virtual sessions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote holistic healer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Holistic Healer, you generally need training or certification in holistic health practices, a solid understanding of wellness modalities (such as Reiki, nutrition, or mindfulness), and knowledge of virtual client care. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, video conferencing tools, and secure communication systems is essential for conducting remote sessions. Exceptional listening skills, empathy, and the ability to build trust remotely help practitioners connect deeply with clients. These skills and qualities ensure effective, client-centered healing experiences and support optimal well-being in a virtual environment.

About SideBy Care
SideBy Care is the first AI-supported virtual care service for GI practices and clients with Crohn's, colitis, and Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBI).
Because the gut and brain constantly communicate through nerves, hormones, and chemicals, stress directly triggers GI symptoms (cramping, bloating, diarrhea), while gut issues simultaneously impact mood. We break this cycle by providing insurance-covered gut-brain therapy alongside diet and lifestyle support. Backed by scalable technology and behavioral science, more than 92% of our clients report quality of life and symptom improvement during the program.
Founded by individuals with lived experience, our purpose-built, personalized, and empathetic program delivers life-changing outcomes. We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our multidisciplinary team and play a leading role in helping individuals heal from the inside out.
Responsibilities
  • Clinical Counseling: Provide medical nutrition therapy for GI conditions; counsel clients on nutrition and sustainable lifestyle changes to support the gut-brain axis and overall health.
  • Care Planning: Create lifestyle-focused care plans that promote a healthy relationship with food, exercise, and self.
  • Documentation & Coordination: Appropriately document clinical encounters and communicate as needed with the care team and clients outside of sessions.
  • Collaboration: Work cooperatively as an interdisciplinary team member and actively participate in care team meetings alongside gut-directed therapists, other dietitians, and GI doctors.

  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills; ability to build and maintain rapport with clients and team members.
  • Logistics: Private home office space with a reliable internet connection; ability to respond to client messages quickly.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with individuals with GI disorders.
  • Demonstrated understanding/knowledge of Silicon Valley nutrition and wellness trends, including longevity/anti-aging protocols, GLP-1 microdosing, CGM optimization, intermittent/prolonged fasting, and biohacking/nutrigenomics.
  • Functional and integrative health understanding.
  • Outpatient and/or telehealth experience.
  • Understanding of how to identify disordered eating.
  • Familiarity with mental health treatment.
  • Experience working with patients to improve sleep, stress management, movement/exercise, and other lifestyle changes to benefit gut health.
Skills and Abilities
  • Interpersonal Excellence: Compassionate, professional, and respectful in all forms of communication with clients, medical providers, and team members. Comfort working closely with medical professionals.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom (or comparable telehealth platforms), and at least one Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Professional Execution: Demonstrates strong initiative, good judgment, informed decision-making, and an ability to thrive in an environment with rapidly changing client needs.
  • Ethics & Compliance: Uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles; puts clients first and maintains strict confidentiality of personnel, fiscal, and private health information (PHI).
Benefits
  • Flexibility: 100% fully remote with flexible scheduling options to support work-life harmony.
