This role is remote, providing the flexibility to create a work-life balance while focusing on patient care. You will interact with a diverse client population through virtual sessions, utilizing various online communication tools and therapy platforms. As a mental health counselor at Thrive & Bloom, you will be an integral part of a highly collaborative team, engaging in regular virtual meetings and case consultations to enhance care delivery and share best practices.

• Conduct in-depth assessments to understand the needs, challenges, and treatment goals of individuals seeking help for substance use disorders.
• Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individual patient circumstances.
• Facilitate individual counseling sessions using techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy, focusing on empowering clients throughout their recovery journeys.
• Lead group therapy sessions that offer a safe space for participants to share experiences, gain insights, and learn coping strategies from both peers and therapists.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and addiction specialists, to coordinate comprehensive care and ensure all aspects of a patient’s health are addressed.
• Provide urgent crisis intervention and support during substance-related emergencies, demonstrating swift response and effective communication skills.
• Educate patients and their families on addiction recovery modalities, relapse prevention strategies, and available community resources to support ongoing wellness.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of patient progress in alignment with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Engage in continuous professional development by attending team meetings, participating in case discussions, and staying abreast of the latest advancements in substance use treatment methodologies.

This position primarily serves individuals affected by substance use disorders, ranging from mild to severe cases. Clients may include those seeking recovery from addictions to alcohol, prescription medications, and illicit substances. You will offer therapeutic support not only to clients but also to their families, recognizing the impact of addiction on the entire family unit and empowering them with the tools to facilitate healing.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
• Current licenses such as LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW are mandatory to practice in this role.
• A strong understanding of addiction-related theories, evidence-based treatment approaches, and recovery-oriented practices is essential for success.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are crucial, combined with the ability to offer compassionate, non-judgmental support to clients in distress.

• At least two years of clinical experience in providing individual and group therapy in the context of addiction treatment is highly preferred.
• Hands-on familiarity with utilization of therapy platforms and electronic health record systems is advantageous.
• Prior experience working in community health settings or substance use disorder treatment facilities is a plus.
