In this role, you may conduct an analysis of illness trends and treatment results, answer questions for your client, or use online sources to add information to records. Some healthcare informatics jobs also focus on training or consulting—in these positions, you may instead teach people how to use healthcare informatics systems and make sure they know how to follow patient privacy regulations. While this remote job is usually done from home, it can also be done from a healthcare facility to coordinate with remote caregivers.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail are critical soft skills for translating clinical needs into technical solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams. These abilities ensure the secure, accurate, and efficient management of healthcare data, supporting better patient outcomes and organizational efficiency.

How does a remote healthcare informatics specialist typically collaborate with clinical and IT teams?

Remote healthcare informatics specialists often bridge the gap between clinical staff and IT departments by facilitating virtual meetings, managing electronic health record (EHR) optimization projects, and translating clinical needs into technical solutions. They regularly use collaboration tools to communicate updates, gather requirements, and troubleshoot issues. Effective teamwork and clear communication are essential, as most interactions are virtual and require proactive engagement to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and informed.

Care Coordinator

Remote / Full Time / Monday to Friday, 1:00 - 9:30 PM ET

At Novocure, we're working to extend the lives of patients battling some of the most aggressive cancers. Every role here contributes to that mission - and as a Care Coordinator, you'll be a dedicated point of contact for patients and caregivers who reach out to our Care Center, helping them feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their treatment journey.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Care Coordinator to support patients and caregivers with a primary focus on inbound calls and text messages. In this patient-facing role, you will help patients navigate device logistics, travel and technical needs, and monthly supply and equipment orders while ensuring timely, accurate documentation across company systems.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, remote position reporting to the Manager, Care Center. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 1:00-9:30 PM ET. Team members must have a quiet, private workspace with reliable internet and telecommunications infrastructure and be able to travel to Portsmouth, NH or other company locations for initial onboarding and training, as well as approximately 1-2 times per year for additional training and/or team events.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Support the Care Coordinator team with a primary focus on handling inbound calls and text messages from patients and caregivers.
  • Serve as a dedicated point of contact for patients and caregivers, providing responsive, compassionate support throughout their treatment journey.
  • Explain device logistics and provide travel and technical support to help patients navigate treatment-related needs.
  • Coordinate monthly supply and equipment orders to help ensure patients have the materials they need to begin and remain on treatment.
  • Create a supportive experience that helps patients and caregivers feel valued, secure, and confident with starting and staying on treatment.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and documentation in company-specific CRM and ERP platforms in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Work closely with Care Center leadership and teammates to address patient needs and support Care Center priorities.
  • Provide occasional rotating on-call coverage outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Participate in scheduled team/company meetings, onboarding, training, and team events as required.

ABOUT YOU

You are a thoughtful communicator who enjoys helping people and can balance empathy with accuracy and follow-through. You are comfortable managing a steady flow of inbound calls and text messages, speaking directly with patients and caregivers, documenting information carefully, and working within established processes in a regulated healthcare environment.

You bring a collaborative mindset, strong organizational skills, and a patient-forward approach to every interaction. You can remain calm and responsive while managing multiple patient needs, learn new systems quickly, and help create a reliable, reassuring experience for patients and caregivers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-year college degree preferred
  • Patient-facing healthcare experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Understanding of Protected Health Information (PHI) and HIPAA Privacy and Security guidelines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, caregivers, and internal teams
  • Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Access to a quiet, private workspace with reliable internet and telecommunications infrastructure to support remote work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of Medicare, managed care, third-party payers, and Medicaid
  • Familiarity with the legal and regulatory environment applicable to healthcare and medical technology organizations, including relevant industry guidelines
  • Ability to speak and understand Spanish

HOW YOU'LL WORK

  • Work a consistent Monday-Friday schedule from 1:00-9:30 PM ET, providing important coverage during afternoon and evening patient-support hours
  • Work remotely while staying closely connected with Care Center leadership and teammates
  • Travel to Portsmouth, NH or other company locations for initial onboarding and training and approximately 1-2 times per year for additional training and/or team events
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule when needed outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Operate in a patient-focused environment where responsiveness, empathy, reliability, documentation accuracy, and collaboration are essential
