Licensed Health Insurance Agent (Remote - Customer Support & Consulting)

Position Type: Full-Time / Remote (Contract/Seasonal)

Pay Rate: $24.04 / hour

Start Date: October 12

Training: 4 Weeks Paid Remote Training (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CT)

Schedule: 40 hours/week | Standard Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CT (Flexibility required for peak season in Dec-Jan, including potential overtime/weekends)


JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking compassionate, detail-oriented Licensed Health Insurance Agents to join our team in a non-sales, customer-focused role. In this position, you will be on the front lines providing clear, helpful, and empathetic guidance to members and healthcare providers.

Rather than hard-selling, your goal is to consult with individuals, answer complex benefit questions, and help them confidently navigate their health insurance choices.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inbound Member Consultation (98% Inbound): Deliver a seamless, empathetic experience assisting members and providers via inbound calls and emails.

  • Coverage & Benefit Guidance: Consult with members to identify the best insurance coverage for their needs and navigate questions regarding claims, benefits, and plan details.

  • Outbound Follow-Up (2% Outbound): Make occasional outbound calls to assist members with form completions and application follow-ups.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, brokers, and third-party entities to resolve complex member issues.

  • Accurate Documentation: Log all client interactions, case notes, and follow-ups in the CRM platform with high accuracy and attention to detail.


LOCATION & LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
  • License Requirement: Must hold an Active Health Insurance License in your state of residence (Agents holding multi-state licenses will be given priority).

  • Eligible States of Residence: Candidates MUST reside and hold a license in one of the following states:

    • MN, WI, OH, IN, TX, FL, MA, ND, IA, KS, MO, CA, PA, or GA.

  • Licensure Support: Additional state licenses needed for the role will be paid for and sponsored! (Note: Fingerprinting may be required for GA and FL residents).


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Licensure: Active Health Insurance License (Resident State).

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal/written communication and active listening skills.

  • Consultative Mindset: Passion for helping people and a non-sales, consultative approach to problem-solving.

  • Technical Setup:

    • Private, quiet home office with a closing door (HIPAA compliant).

    • High-speed, reliable home Wi-Fi connection (speed test required during screening).

    • Personal computer required (Keyboard, mouse, and an optional monitor are provided by the client).

    • Smartphone required for remote multi-factor authentication.

  • Software Skills: Proficiency with basic computer navigation, MS Excel, Google Suite, and Five9/CRM software.
