Locum Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Work Type: Remote, 1099 Contractor Location: California, Format: Telemedicine and Onsite Locum Options Schedule: Flexible Compensation: Competitive hourly rates Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor (role-dependent)

In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy, through secure telehealth platforms. This position offers excellent flexibility, allowing you to maintain a work-life balance while delivering high-quality mental health care to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up visits via secure video platforms.
  • Provide psychotherapy, counseling, and mental health support as clinically appropriate.
  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and the broader care team to ensure coordinated, whole-person care
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within 24 hours.
  • Stay current on best practices in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and evidence-based mental health treatment.

Requirements (Qualifications)

  • Active ARNP licensure (PMHNP required) and current DEA certification
  • California state licensure required (or ability to obtain quickly)
  • Experience providing psychiatric care via telehealth preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic capability
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection
  • Organized, self-directed, and timely with documentation
