Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individualized counseling sessions for patients experiencing chronic pain, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Develop comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with a diverse team of healthcare providers, integrating physical, emotional, and lifestyle aspects into care.
• Guide patients in becoming proactive participants in their own pain management, facilitating their journey towards recovery and wellness.
• Provide emotional support and strategies for coping with the psychological impact of chronic pain, including anxiety and depression.
• Assist patients in identifying and implementing effective lifestyle modifications, including diet, exercise, and mindfulness practices.
• Utilize telehealth technology effectively to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with patients who are enduring chronic pain conditions—ranging from arthritis and migraines to fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain. Many patients will be experiencing co-occurring mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression that may exacerbate their pain experience. Your focus will be on guiding these individuals towards improved emotional and psychological well-being, fostering resilience and empowering them to take control of their health.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Counseling or a related field is mandatory.
• A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in Washington State.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with patients.
• Comfortable and proficient in using telehealth platforms to conduct counseling sessions.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of counseling experience, particularly with individuals dealing with chronic pain or related psychological conditions.
• Experience in health coaching or wellness strategies that complement counseling work.
• Familiarity with pain management techniques and therapeutic practices is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 100,000 to 105,000, commensurate with experience.
