Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Terradise, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Managing a caseload of clients, establishing rapport and maintaining professional boundaries to foster effective therapeutic relationships.
• Conducting regular sessions with clients to monitor progress, discuss stability, and plan for appropriate discharge when necessary.
• Creating, implementing, and reviewing person-centered treatment plans, tailored to individual needs and incorporating feedback from clients.
• Maintaining thorough and accurate documentation, including progress notes and updates for each client to ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Conducting intake assessments to evaluate clients' needs and develop initial treatment plans.
• Facilitating individual counseling sessions, guiding clients through therapeutic processes aimed at addressing their specific challenges.
• Engaging in regular supervision and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field.
• Collaborating effectively with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care that addresses both mental health and overall wellness.
• Adopting a growth mindset, proactively seeking opportunities for personal and professional growth within the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on youth mental health, where you will work closely with children and adolescents facing various challenges, including anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues. At Terradise, we prioritize a client-focused approach, aiming for holistic healing and empowerment. Your work will play a crucial role in supporting these young individuals to achieve better mental health outcomes and improve their quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Counseling or a related field is required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut.
• Ability to meet internal credentialing requirements specific to clinical settings.
• A minimum of two years of experience in providing mental health assessment and diagnosis, as well as individual and group therapy.
• Demonstrated ability in working with psychiatric patients and/or populations dealing with substance abuse.
• Proficient in utilizing technology for documentation and client management, including basic keyboarding skills.

Preferred Experience

• A proven track record working with youth in a clinical setting, with a strong understanding of developmental psychology.
• Experience in crisis intervention and management.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
