This remote position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of seniors, particularly those navigating the complexities of aging. Within our outpatient services framework, you will play a pivotal role in providing empathetic and culturally-sensitive care, ensuring that our clients receive the support they need in a familiar and comfortable environment.

About the Organization

Crown Heights Behavioral Health is committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through focused and compassionate mental health care. We specialize in providing counseling and therapeutic services to seniors dealing with loss, life transitions, and age-related challenges. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates to deliver effective treatment plans tailored to individual needs. We prioritize a holistic approach to mental health, integrating evidence-based methodologies that align with our mission of promoting overall wellness in our community.

Work Environment

As a remote role within our outpatient office setting, you will benefit from a flexible work environment that supports productivity and work-life balance. While the majority of your interactions will take place via telehealth platforms, we maintain close communication and collaboration with all staff members. Our team structure allows for regular case discussions, consultations, and support, granting you access to a wealth of knowledge and expertise from colleagues. The position is primarily Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evening or weekend hours to accommodate client schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health and develop individualized treatment plans that may include crisis intervention strategies, behavioral guidelines, and medication management.
  • Provide evidence-based therapy tailored to the unique needs of seniors, utilizing techniques that foster trust and openness.
  • Document all assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring timely reporting for the clinical team.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals to implement positive behavior support plans, guiding clients towards healthier and more fulfilling lives.
  • Act as a liaison with community resources, state agencies, and service systems to enhance client care and expand access to supportive services.
  • Participate actively in licensing and accreditation processes, ensuring that our organization meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through conferences, workshops, and training sessions to remain current with best practices in geriatric mental health.
  • Promote the agency's mission and values actively within the community, not only with clients but also through outreach to potential partners and funding sources.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the Clinic Director as necessary to meet the needs of our clients and the objectives of the organization.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on seniors, a population facing unique challenges that can significantly impact their mental health, including grief, isolation, and the stress of navigating life changes. You will work with clients who are seeking support for various age-related issues, requiring a deep understanding of their experiences and expertise in geriatric mental health. Collaborating with families and other healthcare professionals will enhance the holistic care provided to our patients.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A current valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
  • At least 4 years of recent, relevant experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
  • Specialized training or certification in geriatric mental health, elder care, or related fields is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a remote healthcare setting and familiarity with telehealth platforms.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities specifically tailored for older adults.
  • Strong ability to navigate and form partnerships with community resources and agencies beneficial to seniors.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $95,000 annually, reflecting both your experience and the significant impact your contributions will have on our clients and organization. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Retirement savings plan with employer contributions to secure your financial future.
  • Generous paid time off policy, which includes vacation, sick leave, and recognized holidays, promoting necessary work-life balance.
  • An employee assistance program offering support for mental well-being and additional resources for professional development.
