Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to develop personalized therapy plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
  • Implement individual and group therapeutic sessions, utilizing various therapeutic methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy.
  • Document client progress and treatment plans accurately, ensuring compliance with legal standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Engage in regular collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and medical professionals, to ensure holistic and well-coordinated care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to remain informed of current research and best practices in mental health treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at NovaCare, you will serve a diverse client population, including individuals and families experiencing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and trauma. Our focus is on providing equitable access to quality mental health services, particularly for underprivileged communities.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
  • Current and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a counseling role is essential, with a history of working directly with clients in diverse settings.
  • Strong understanding of mental health policies, legal standards, and best practices in client care.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from varied backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a healthcare team and engage in productive teamwork.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and related technologies to ensure efficient documentation and case management.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance abuse counseling is highly desired.
  • Experience in community health settings or similar environments is a plus.
  • Engagement in continuous professional development, including attending workshops or certifications relevant to therapeutic practices.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience and availability of caseload.
