Description & Requirements
Maximus is seeking a POTFF Psychological Domain Lead to provide senior-level clinical, technical, and programmatic leadership for the Psychological Domain within the Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) program. This role supports U.S. Special Operations Forces personnel and their families by integrating clinical psychology, operational psychology, behavioral health, resilience, assessment and selection, and performance optimization services. The Domain Lead will partner with Government representatives, operational leaders, clinicians, and multidisciplinary human performance professionals to strengthen readiness, improve access to care, and advance evidence-based program outcomes.
This position is pending upon contract award.
U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope including facilitating and preparing all planning activities and artifacts.
- Oversee and manage large multi-project programs including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities.
- Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain a master and individual resource plan and required documents for projects.
- Baseline all projects and capture actual metrics for historical metrics and Level of Effort (LoE) forecasting.
- Review deliverables prepared by team before providing to management and customers.
- Effectively apply the PMI methodology and enforce project standards on all projects.
- Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Minimize risk exposure on projects.
- Communicate relevant project information to management, stakeholders, and customers.
- Resolve and/or escalate issues within a reasonable amount of time taking in consideration impact on the project.
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Track and maintain lessons learned and utilize lessons learned on subsequent projects.
- Ensure all projects are properly closed out.
- Supervise staff by providing direction, input, and performance feedback.
- Serve as escalation point to prioritizing workloads and resolving issues.
- Act as liaison for assigned vendor(s), including performance and SLA monitoring, and supporting system and business process changes.
- Participate in the drafting of vendor contracts, addendums, SOWs, RFPs/RFIs, change requests, and requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement teams.
- Provide strategic direction, technical oversight, and subject matter expertise for Psychological Domain services across assigned POTFF locations or teams.
- Lead and support clinical, operational, and performance psychology services, including psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, personnel selection, executive coaching, leadership development, and performance enhancement.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based behavioral health, resilience, suicide prevention, and psychological readiness initiatives aligned with operational requirements.
- Advise Government and program leadership on psychological readiness, behavioral health trends, organizational effectiveness, emerging risks, staffing needs, and opportunities for program improvement.
- Coordinate referrals, crisis response, critical incident support, and continuity of care with military treatment facilities, community providers, command teams, and other authorized stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Physical, Cognitive, Social and Family, and Spiritual Domain professionals to integrate psychological services into training, operations, recovery, and family readiness activities.
- Use program data, outcome measures, research findings, and trend analysis to evaluate service effectiveness, identify gaps, support required reporting, and recommend corrective actions.
- Promote standardized practices, quality assurance, ethical care, documentation discipline, and compliance with applicable professional standards, contract requirements, and Government guidance.
- Maintain required licensure, credentials, clinical privileges, and continuing education, and ensure services are documented in approved systems when applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association-accredited program.
- Completion of an American Psychological Association-accredited internship or residency.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in at least one U.S. state or territory, with the ability to obtain and maintain required credentialing and clinical privileges.
- Minimum seven years of post-doctoral experience providing independent psychological services in operational, military, Government, healthcare, or similarly complex environments.
- Minimum two years of experience in performance enhancement, executive coaching, organizational assessment and consultation, or personnel selection and assessment.
- Demonstrated experience administering, scoring, interpreting, and communicating results from a broad range of psychological assessment instruments.
- Experience supporting behavioral health, resilience, suicide prevention, crisis response, program evaluation, quality improvement, or applied research initiatives.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, analytical, written communication, and executive-level stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, electronic health records, databases, and clinical or program reporting systems.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen per contract requirements.
- Must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting the Department of Defense, U.S. Special Operations Command, Special Operations Forces, the Intelligence Community, Veterans Affairs, or another federal agency.
- Experience in operational psychology, performance psychology, personnel selection, organizational consultation, or embedded behavioral health.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary clinical or human performance teams in geographically dispersed or high-tempo environments.
- Training or certification in critical incident stress management, trauma-informed care, or comparable crisis intervention practices.
- Experience with behavioral health treatment related to post-traumatic stress, anxiety and mood conditions, substance use, family and relationship concerns, or crisis intervention.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
