Essential duties and responsibilities

The Brand Ambassador Team Captain is responsible for leading the day-to-day field execution of EWC's Brand Ambassador program to drive customer engagement, promotional awareness, membership growth, and wash redemptions.

Working under the direction of the Regional Sales Trainer, the Team Captain translates established market strategies, activation priorities, and performance goals into consistent field execution. This role oversees weekly scheduling, team communication, event and promotional execution, in-field coaching, performance tracking, CRM data processes, and promotional inventory.

The Team Captain serves as the primary day-to-day connection between Brand Ambassadors, the Regional Sales Trainer, Site Managers, and Marketing to ensure the team is properly deployed, supported, and accountable for delivering results.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Execute Brand Ambassador field strategies, activation priorities, and performance expectations established by the Regional Sales Trainer.

  • Own and manage the weekly Brand Ambassador schedule and ensure appropriate staffing and coverage across assigned locations, events, and outreach activities.

  • Provide hands-on leadership in the field, regularly working alongside Brand Ambassadors at community events, promotional activations, retail locations, and grassroots outreach efforts.

  • Conduct regular team debriefs to review performance, challenges, wins, upcoming priorities, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Coach, motivate, and hold Brand Ambassadors accountable for achieving established customer engagement, sign-up, wash redemption, and membership growth goals.

  • Observe Brand Ambassador customer interactions and provide real-time coaching to ensure consistent execution of approved messaging, customer engagement standards, promotional offers, and brand expectations.

  • Monitor individual and team performance against established KPIs, identify performance gaps, provide timely coaching, and escalate recurring performance concerns to the Regional Sales Trainer.

  • Hold Brand Ambassadors accountable for attendance, professionalism, assigned activities, and established individual and team expectations.

  • Coordinate and execute weekly Flash Free Wash activations based on market priorities established in partnership with the Regional Sales Trainer.

  • Coordinate Flash Free Wash events and other promotional activations with appropriate Site Managers and internal partners.

  • Serve as the on-site lead for priority events and activations, including setup, staffing, execution, troubleshooting, and teardown.

  • Ensure required event and activation information is communicated to EWC Marketing within established timelines.

  • Ensure customer sign-up data is accurately collected and uploaded into the EWC CRM in accordance with established processes and timelines.

  • Ensure accurate execution of promotional code, customer data collection, and campaign tracking procedures.

  • Track Brand Ambassador performance, including customer sign-ups, wash redemptions, membership growth, and other established KPIs.

  • Maintain and submit required team performance, attendance, activity, and incentive reporting.

  • Identify and communicate field observations, community opportunities, customer feedback, competitive activity, and activation learnings to the Regional Sales Trainer.

  • Manage and maintain Brand Ambassador equipment and promotional assets, including iPads, tents, signage, uniforms, giveaways, tearaways, and other printed materials.

  • Monitor promotional inventory and coordinate reorders and distribution as needed.

  • Communicate scheduling updates, staffing concerns, performance trends, field observations, and inventory needs to the Regional Sales Trainer.

  • Partner with Site Managers and Marketing to ensure promotional activities are organized and successfully executed.

  • Maintain a professional, positive, energetic, and results-focused presence while representing EWC in the community.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, marketing, promotions, event marketing, brand ambassador work, community outreach, or a similar customer-facing role preferred.

  • Previous leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Experience leading field marketing, experiential marketing, street teams, events, or similar promotional activities preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage both team members and customers.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable to performance expectations.

  • Comfortable tracking and interpreting performance metrics and working toward established goals.

  • Ability to identify performance gaps and provide effective real-time coaching.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound day-of operational decisions in a fast-paced field environment.

  • Comfortable using spreadsheets, reporting tools, iPads, and other technology.

  • Must be dependable, self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently while executing established direction.

  • Ability to travel locally between assigned EWC locations, community events, and promotional areas as needed. Reliable transportation required.

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and meet company requirements to operate a company vehicle.

  • Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends based on business and event needs.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

  • Standing and remaining active for extended periods while working at locations and promotional events.

  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Walking, bending, reaching, and performing other physical activities associated with event setup and execution.

  • Transporting, setting up, distributing, and managing promotional materials, signage, equipment, and supplies.

  • Traveling between assigned locations and event sites as required.
