Job description

Overview
We are looking to build out a network of Regional Talent Scouts across key gymnastics markets. These individuals will serve as the primary voice and evaluator within their assigned region, helping Prep Gymnastics scale content, strengthen relationships, and improve the depth and accuracy of our gymnast and team coverage.
This role is designed as a win-win: it allows us to expand our national footprint while giving scouts a platform to grow their personal brand through consistent exposure and content creation.
Objective
The Regional Talent Scout Program is intended to:
  • Increase content volume and consistency across all platforms
  • Improve athlete evaluation and rankings accuracy at both regional and national levels
  • Strengthen on-the-ground relationships in key gymnastics markets
  • Create a scalable system for identifying and covering talent year-round

Role Structure
Each scout will be assigned a specific region with a strong concentration of gymnastics talent. They will be responsible for owning that region from both a content and evaluation standpoint, becoming a trusted and consistent voice within their market for both gymnasts and their teams.
Core Responsibilities
1. Talent Identification & Evaluation
  • Track and evaluate top gymnasts within assigned region
  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospects across multiple age groups
  • Contribute insight toward regional and national rankings

2. Content Creation
  • Produce consistent written content (athlete spotlights, skill coverage, event recaps, evaluations)
  • Highlight top performers, emerging prospects, and key storylines
  • Support overall platform growth through increased content output

3. Event Coverage & Market Relationships
  • Build relationships with coaches, parents, players, and program directors
  • Attend and cover local, state, and regional events when possible - Travel TBD?
  • Help identify opportunities for Prep Gymnastics events and partnerships

4. Media & Platform Integration
  • Participate in Prep Gymnastics media (Instagram Lives, TikTok Lives, podcasts, etc.)
  • Contribute to social content and real-time coverage when applicable
  • Represent both the Prep Gymnastics brand and their own personal brand

Content & Activity Expectations
To ensure consistency and scalability, the role will operate with baseline expectations:
Weekly / Non-Event Coverage
  • 3-5 written pieces per week (gymnast spotlights, team coverage, recaps, evaluations)
  • Ongoing athlete tracking and note-taking within assigned region
  • Regular social contributions (observations, articles, clips, engagement or gymnast callouts)
  • Active communication with the internal team (Slack, planning, coordination, etc.)

Event Coverage Expectations
During events, scouts are expected to operate at a higher content volume to maximize exposure and real-time coverage:
  • Share 10 gymnast spotlights per day
  • Identify 15-25 top performers throughout the event on all-around and all four events
  • Produce 5 written articles post-event based on top performers and key takeaways
  • Contribute to real-time storytelling, notes, and observations during meets

Why This Matters
This program is a key step in building a more scalable and credible national platform. By establishing dedicated regional coverage, we are able to:
  • Expand content without sacrificing quality
  • Develop deeper, more informed athlete evaluations
  • Build stronger relationships at the grassroots level
  • Position Prep Gymnastics as a trusted authority in the space

Growth & Long-Term Opportunity
This role is designed to evolve over time based on performance and engagement. Potential growth areas include:
  • Increased involvement in national rankings and evaluations
  • Leading coverage at major events and showcases
  • Expanded presence across social and live media platforms
  • Opportunity to grow into regional lead or national roles

Ideal Profile
  • Strong understanding of a specific gymnastics region or demographic
  • Passion for talent evaluation and athlete development
  • Consistent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable creating written and digital content
  • Interested in building a long-term presence in the gymnastics/media space with Prep Gymnastics

Summary
The Regional Talent Scout Program provides a structured way to scale Prep Gymnastics' coverage while empowering individuals within key markets to grow alongside the brand. By combining local expertise with a national platform, this initiative strengthens both our content ecosystem and our position within grassroots gymnastics.
