Position Summary

UNDIVIDED is seeking a strategic, relational, and community rooted Organizing Director for Seattle and Washington State to lead and grow our community organizing and impact in the Pacific Northwest. This role will oversee building a strong base of strong leaders, teams, clergy, and institutions who are aligned with Kingdom values, advancing healing, and pursuing Biblical justice in their neighborhoods and regions.

This role will play a critical leadership role in building and growing the organizing and justice culture of UNDIVIDED through deep listening, leadership development, ongoing training, and strategic campaigns that advance justice in Seattle and Washington State, while providing key learnings and growth for organizing nationally through UNDIVIDED. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, comfortable with managing campaigns and collaborating across teams in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruit and develop leaders and teams deeply rooted in their church and community

• Regularly Engage church leaders (staff and congregational members) through 1:1 conversations
• Engage in regular listening, both formal and informal, to insure the voices, passion, and leadership of local people are driving the organizing
• Develop, train, and support leader led teams in congregations and institutions
• Identify and develop organizing champions who are leading, building a following, and wielding redemptive power in the public arena
• Lead and support regular trainings both collectively and inside institutions on the fundamentals of organizing

2. Guide and support strategic justice campaigns

• Work with leaders, clergy and congregations to determine what challenges and problems are in the way of justice for the people
• Work with leaders to explore possible justice campaigns with issue cuts and a path to winning
• Launch and execute justice campaigns in ways that develop leaders, grow the redemptive power of the organization, and advance the identified justice campaign
• At conclusion of campaign, reflect, celebrate, and explore next campaign opportunities

3. Support growing Organizing Movement through UNDIVIDED

• Serve as part of UNDIVIDED's organizing team
• Work with team members and other local network leads to grow as a leader and organizer
• Reflect on and develop strategies to overcome internal and external barriers to stronger individual and collective leadership
• Experiment with strategies, tactics, and procedures to refine best practices that can be applied in Seattle and beyond

Required Qualifications

• Deep commitment to grassroots organizing, leadership development, justice work, and the mission of UNDIVIDED.
• 2+ years of experience in community organizing, movement-building, campaign strategy, leadership development, or related work.
• Demonstrated success developing leaders, coaching organizers, or supporting distributed teams.
• Strong understanding of grassroots organizing, relational organizing, power-building, and campaign strategy.
• Experience facilitating training, leadership development spaces, or group learning environments.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build trust and work effectively across diverse communities and leadership styles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and support complex projects simultaneously.
• Experience navigating fast-paced, evolving, and high-pressure environments with steadiness and strategic thinking.
• Strong organizational skills and systems thinking.
• Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing or coordinating distributed organizing networks or grassroots teams.
• Experience in faith-based organizing or faith-rooted justice work.
• Experience facilitating political education or leadership formation spaces.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are strongly preferred.
• Experience working in coalition environments and cross-organizational partnerships.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This position operates in a remote work environment. Employees regularly use standard equipment such as computers, phones, and video conferencing tools to collaborate with teams and leadership. Attendance at two annual staff retreats is required, along with occasional in-person participation at meetings or events. Some evening or weekend availability may be needed.
