Maximus is searching for a Graphic/Document Design Specialist in support of a pending federal OPTN (Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network) contract award. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven program by transforming complex technical and non-technical content into clear, visually compelling deliverables. You'll collaborate with authors and cross-functional teams to design and produce proposals, reports, presentations, and digital/print materials, ensuring all outputs align with established style guides, meet quality standards, and adhere to strict deadlines.
The ideal candidate brings strong design expertise and attention to detail, with experience using Microsoft and Adobe Creative Suite tools (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). You'll manage multiple projects, maintain version control, and support publication and proposal efforts while contributing creative ideas and solutions. This is a great fit for a professional with 3+ years of experience who enjoys balancing creativity with structure in a federal, deadline-driven environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with authors, import text and images and create layouts in both Microsoft and Adobe software programs.
- Follow established style guides and templates and are able to implement appropriate style and layout for desired submissions and presentations.
- Create visually compelling digital and print materials such as forms, reports, information graphics, presentations and website imagery.
- Develop, modify and maintain documents and prepare formatted documents for print or electronic publication, including editing and proofreading for quality and accuracy.
- Manage assigned projects to meet review, publication and submission deadlines and contribute to brainstorming meetings and the development and implementation of new ideas.
- Establish and maintain version control, file access permissions and electronic file archival, including archival proposal materials upon submission of bids.
- Produce and format documentation including formal proposals, technical documentation, process flow diagrams, procedures, reports and other published materials.
Prepares technical and non-technical visual presentations through designing art and copy layouts for publication.
Requisition Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with creative personnel, marketing, and other graphic professionals to gather information and materials needed for design.
- Illustrates established design concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
- Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment.
- Assists with the coordination of photography, artwork, and printing.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience.
- May have additional training or education in area of specialization.
- Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope & complexity.
- General application of concepts & principles.
- Contributes to the completion of organizational projects & goals.
- Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
- Applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
- Communicates on complex or sensitive issues or drafts such responses for supervisor or manager.
Additional Minimum Requirements:
- Has knowledge of and utilizes applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, and HTML.
- Performs work under general supervision.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
