Job description

Senior Real Estate Tax Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Senior Real Estate Tax Analyst to support property tax compliance, assessment, appeals, and incentive projects for commercial and industrial clients. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of property tax consulting experience, strong knowledge of real property taxation, and experience with assessment appeals.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the annual property tax cycle for assigned real property portfolios.

  • Review property assessments, assessor records, tax bills, and client data to identify issues and savings opportunities.

  • Prepare and support property tax assessment appeals, including informal, formal, and litigation matters.

  • Develop target property values using appropriate valuation methods.

  • Research and support tax incentives, abatements, and exemptions.

  • Prepare client reports, presentations, workpapers, and project schedules.

  • Communicate with clients, assessors, and taxing authorities regarding property tax matters.

  • Conduct property inspections when required.

  • Track deadlines, deliverables, and appeal status across multiple projects.

  • Support client billing, collections, and other practice management activities.

  • Maintain professional certifications and stay current on property tax laws and industry trends.

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of direct property tax consulting experience.

  • Experience with real property tax assessments and appeals.

  • Experience preparing for and participating in property tax assessment appeal hearings.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Indiana Level III Certification preferred.

  • CMI designation highly desired.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Client-focused with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
