Senior Technical Content Writer

DoiT

Atlanta, GA • Remote

Part-time

Job description

Location

Our Senior Technical Content Writer – Data Platforms will join our global Marketing team. This remote role is ideally based in the United States, with overlap with US business hours (ET–PT) to support collaboration with internal stakeholders and occasional external experts. Candidates outside these time zones are welcome, as long as they can accommodate United States working hours.

Who We Are
DoiT is a global technology company that works with cloud-driven organizations to leverage the cloud to drive business growth and innovation. We combine data, technology, and human expertise to ensure our customers operate in a well-architected and scalable state - from planning to production.

Delivering DoiT Cloud Intelligence, the only solution that integrates advanced technology with human intelligence, we help our customers solve complex multicloud problems and drive efficiency.

With decades of multicloud experience, we have specializations in Kubernetes, GenAI, CloudOps, and more. An award-winning strategic partner of AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, we work alongside more than 4,000 customers worldwide.

The Opportunity

We're building a technical content program to serve data engineers, analytics engineers, and other practitioners who work inside data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) environments. The content targets people who already know and use the platforms. It has to earn their attention by being technically grounded, specific, and useful in practice.

This role owns a meaningful slice of that program. You'll produce ebooks, long-form guides, blog posts, and webinar materials that help practitioners understand and manage compute costs inside Databricks and Snowflake.

You'll work independently on some workstreams and alongside a small team of subject-matter experts and contracted technical writers and others. The expectation: you can run a piece from research to publish-ready draft with minimal hand-holding, and you can also integrate cleanly into a collaborative review process when the content requires practitioner depth you'll need to source.

What This Is Not
This role requires technical depth, not just technical curiosity. If your strongest work is in cloud vendor blog posts that stay at the 101 level, or in marketing copy that uses platform names without engaging with how the platforms actually work, this isn't the right fit.

It also requires independent output. You'll have access to SMEs and technical reviewers, but the first draft starts with you.

Responsibilities

Ebooks and Long-Form Guides

  • Research, outline, draft, and revise comprehensive guides on Databricks and Snowflake cost management topics (compute optimization, job cluster configuration, Unity Catalog economics, photon efficiency, and similar)
  • Structure complex technical material for practitioners who have no patience for surface-level coverage
  • Own the full revision cycle: incorporate feedback from internal SMEs and external technical reviewers

Blog Posts

  • Produce technical blog posts on Databricks and Snowflake cost and query optimization topics at a pace of 2 or more per month
  • Write from observed patterns and specific data rather than marketing assertions
  • Adapt posts from longer-form assets or develop standalone pieces tied to product releases, platform updates, or practitioner pain points

Webinar Scripts and Slide Support

  • Develop research outlines, speaker scripts, and slide frameworks for live and on-demand webinars
  • Collaborate with technical presenters (internal engineers and external practitioners) to shape structure without overwriting their voice
  • Ensure accuracy and depth: webinar content goes in front of the same practitioners the written content targets

Cross-Platform Coverage (Unicorn Scope)

  • Extend coverage to Snowflake and BigQuery as the content program grows
  • Map transferable concepts across platforms without over-generalizing or flattening the technical distinctions that practitioners care about

Qualifications

Required

  • 5 to 8 years of technical content experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates depth in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, or adjacent fields
  • Demonstrated ability to write for Databricks and Snowflake practitioners: data engineers, analytics engineers, platform engineers, or FinOps specialists
  • Hands-on familiarity with Databricks and Snowflake: you understand the platform well enough to write about cluster configuration, job compute, and cost levers without relying solely on documentation
  • Ebook and long-form guide experience: not just word count, but structure, pacing, and making dense material readable without dumbing it down
  • Comfort operating at senior level: you drive workstreams, set your own research agenda, and flag accuracy issues proactively
  • Strong editorial judgment: you know when a draft needs another pass and when it's ready

Strong Preference

  • Direct experience writing about BigQuery, or other cloud data warehouse and lakehouse platforms
  • Familiarity with FinOps concepts applied to data infrastructure (cloud cost allocation, showback/chargeback, spend optimization)
  • Experience writing webinar scripts or technical presentation materials, not just post-event recaps
  • Background as a practitioner who moved into technical writing, rather than a generalist writer who learned the terminology
