Job Description:

  • Partner with SRE, architecture, and application teams to implement security best practices and secure-by-design principles in the cloud.

  • Plan, prioritize, and improve security initiatives to mitigate risks towards HPE networking cloud environments and assets.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders such as engineering, product management, other security teams, program managers and partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery, and support of cloud security engagements.

  • Monitor and improve cloud security posture across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments, leveraging metrics to drive improvements and governance.

  • Support compliance activities, cloud threat detection, incident response investigations, and forensic initiatives as needed.

  • Represents the security engineering team in various technical forums and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members.

  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the networking organization.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline.

  • Typically, 7-10 years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, and JavaScript.

  • Comfortable designing and implementing AI-assisted security controls.

  • Understanding of microservice architectures and experience building secure containerized, Kubernetes-managed cloud environments leveraging Zero Trust principles.

  • Deep working knowledge of cloud security tools & services such as Wiz, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, AWS GuardDuty and AWS CloudTrail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate product architectures and design proposals to senior leadership.

  • Experience securing at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP), Kubernetes and related cloud technologies.

  • Experience with compliance and audit frameworks such as PCI DSS, NIST SSDF, and CIS Benchmarks.
