Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough intake assessments to understand clients' mental health needs and histories, ensuring a solid foundation for personalized treatment planning.
• Develop and implement tailored therapeutic interventions that address various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and family dynamics.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, creating a safe environment where clients can express themselves and work towards their personal goals.
• Collaboration with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists and medical professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to treatment and support.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities, such as workshops or courses, to stay abreast of the latest therapeutic modalities and best practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of programs and services by sharing insights and recommendations during team meetings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Whispering Winds, you will work with a varied and diverse clientele, including adults, adolescents, and families experiencing emotional and psychological challenges. This role requires a deep understanding of different cultural backgrounds, as well as sensitivity to the unique needs of each individual. Your ability to build rapport and trust with clients is crucial in supporting their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• A valid and active license in your respective state or jurisdiction (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT).
• A minimum of three years of professional experience working in mental health counseling, demonstrating a strong track record of client success.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that allow for the quick establishment of rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems is advantageous, but not mandatory.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Trauma-Informed Care.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote therapy best practices, especially relevant in a post-pandemic landscape.
