Global Life Mental Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our compassionate team in Portland, Oregon. In this full-time, remote position, you will play a pivotal role in providing intensive in-community therapeutic services to children with developmental disabilities and their families. This position allows for flexible remote work, providing therapeutic services in the comfort of clients’ homes or through our community health clinic. • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions that take place either in-home or at our outpatient center, tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs of each child.
• Address behavioral challenges and assist with anger management, coping strategies, and social skills, particularly for high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
• Empower both youth and caregivers by enhancing their decision-making abilities to effectively manage in-home challenges.
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to create a coordinated support system for the families you serve.
• Ensure timely completion of required clinical documentation including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Participate in monthly team meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on your observations and client feedback.

This role specifically focuses on children aged 3 to 20 who are experiencing developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of families who require tailored support and therapeutic interventions to navigate their unique circumstances. Your role is crucial in helping these children achieve better social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes.

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license.
• A commitment to working a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with some flexibility for weekend sessions.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes.
• A successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.

• Experience working with children and adolescents, especially those with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Prior experience in providing positive behavior support and interventions.
