Job description

General Manager
Home Care Operations & Growth
Klipsch Senior Care • Home Instead • Evansville, IN
Full-time • Some evenings & weekends required
This is not a job for someone who wants to keep a seat warm.
We're looking for a leader who wants to own something. Someone who looks at a franchise-its people, its numbers, its reputation in the community-and thinks, "I can build this." Someone with the drive to grow it, the grit to push through the hard stretches, and the steadiness to weather the storms that come with running a business that never really clocks out.
If you've led teams, carried real accountability, and have the track record to prove it-keep reading.
What this role is really about
As General Manager of our Evansville office, the success of this franchise rests with you. Growth, operations, financial performance, team culture, community reputation-you own all of it. The wins are shared across your team, but the weight sits with you. That's the deal, and for the right leader, that's exactly the appeal.
Your biggest job is people. You'll lead and grow your key players-the team who runs scheduling, recruitment, client services, and business development-and turn them into a high-performing unit that delivers for our clients and Care Professionals every day. You're also the face of our franchise in the community, personally building the referral relationships that fuel our growth.
And there's a number that matters: a 12.5% year-over-year increase in hours of care. You'll own that goal-but the way you hit it isn't through pressure or shortcuts. It's through strong operations, a team that performs, and a community that trusts us. Behind every percentage point is a senior living better at home. That's the work. It's demanding, it's relentless at times, and it genuinely matters.
What you'll own
Lead and grow your key players
  • Oversee all office functions-scheduling, Care Professional recruitment and engagement, client services, and business development
  • Interview, hire, train, coach, and develop your administrative team-your key players-into people who grow with the business
  • Conduct performance appraisals and have the honest conversations that make a team better

Drive growth and business development
  • Lead your office's business development effort, including your Business Development Manager, and own the drive toward our 12.5% hours-of-care growth goal
  • Coach and develop your Business Development Manager: set clear targets, monitor performance, remove obstacles, and help them grow
  • Stay personally active and visible in the community-building and maintaining referral relationships is part of your job, not something you hand off entirely

Run the business
  • Execute the annual operational plan and budget set by senior leadership-and bring your field insight and ideas to help shape it
  • Deliver on the plan's revenue, gross profit, and profitability goals-you're accountable for hitting the numbers
  • Manage departmental outcomes and direct changes when something isn't working

Hold the standard
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
  • Communicate and model those standards for every employee
  • Embody our core values-empathy, integrity, persistence, and community focus-in how you lead

What we're looking for
This role calls for a proven leader. Not someone learning to lead-someone who has done it, owned the outcomes, and has the track record to show for it. Specifically:
  • You have a proven track record. You've led teams, carried real accountability for results, and can point to what you built or turned around. Three to five years of related business or leadership experience is the foundation we're looking for.
  • You're a servant leader. You lead from the front, roll up your sleeves, and put your team's success ahead of your own ego. People want to work for you.
  • You have the drive to grow. You're sales-minded and goal-oriented-you set ambitious targets and you don't flinch from them. Growth excites you.
  • You're resilient. When things get hard-and in this business, they will-you push through, find solutions, and keep your team steady through the storm.
  • You take ownership. You don't wait to be told, you don't pass the buck, and you treat the business like it's yours.
  • You lead with integrity. Discretion, fairness, and honesty aren't negotiable-they're how you operate.

A word about experience
A college degree is welcome, and prior experience in senior care or healthcare will help you ramp faster. But neither one is what we're screening for. What matters most is a demonstrated track record of leading people, driving growth, and delivering results-wherever you've done it. Show us what you've led and what came of it.
Tech you'll use
You'll work in CRM systems (Salesforce or similar), client care and scheduling software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams, plus Home Instead's internal systems. You should be comfortable operating in these tools and leading a team that relies on them.
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel within the Evansville area are required. This role includes some evenings and weekends-running a franchise means being available when the business needs you.
What we offer
  • Real ownership-this is your office to lead, build, and grow
  • A mission that matters-every result you drive means more seniors living with dignity at home
  • A values-driven organization that backs its leaders and promotes performance
  • The chance to build something and see the direct impact of your leadership on a team and a community
