API Solutions Engineer
Location: Remote

Type: Long term contract
Job Description
The API Solutions Engineer (SE) role is a technical solution engineer who works with internal and external partners to facilitate API Platform onboarding and API consumption. The SE will collaborate with the API Engineering team(s), Technical Writers and Product Management to help clarify and prioritize partner needs and help foster an environment for ongoing strategic success of the Kroger API initiative.
Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Restful API standards and development.
  • Knowledge of OAuth2 authentication and authorization.
  • Past development experience using OAuth2 security both as consumer and API provider.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and solving problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility is to work with development teams to implement OAuth2 security via the Kroger API Platform and API offerings.
  • Collaborate with API Platform teams to manage interactions with the client's/provider's development staff on API capabilities, use cases, and technical solutions.
  • Assist clients in onboarding to the platform and API gateway.
  • Develop tooling and automation around manual consulting process
  • Work with clients to understand their use cases and provide guidance
  • Collaborate with technical writers to create API documentation, tutorials, and demo applications.
  • Provide examples and sample code to client developers as needed ??
  • Act as a liaison with gateway engineers to assist with development team questions and troubleshooting problems
Top skills -
  • Strong experience with Restful API's
  • Strong experience with OAuth Authentication and Authorization Principals including JWTs, Scopes, Claims
  • Strong coding and automation skills
  • Process automation experience
  • Experience as a senior developer with Java and Kotlin

**Please note: Experience with Java and Kotlin is essential for this role. Proficiency in React and JavaScript is also a valuable asset. Approximately 50% of the role will involve hands-on programming. Also, please use additional notes sections to describe the candidate's OAuth experience.**
Project- Will be working with other developers in consulting capacity. At first this role is going to feel like support activity, but HM would like to evolve role in to developing automation and self-service features
