Summary of Role:

TheSenior Analytics engineer will serve as a key contributor and subject matter expert within our enterprise analytics program. This role combines advanced BI development, data modeling, Power BI administration and visualization design with strong business acumen. You will partner closely with stakeholders across the departments to turn data into actionable insights. You will be part of the team responsible for migrating its on-prem DWH to databricks on AWS and will be responsible for converting/migrating/recreating existing reports into Power BI dashboard. You will work closely with Technology teams in administering the Power BI environment.

This is a highly visible, highimpact position responsible for elevating our reporting capabilities and enabling datadriven decisions across the credit union.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

Power BI Development & Reporting

  • Design, build, and optimizeenterprisegrade Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and reportsthat meet business and regulatory needs.

  • Develop reusable measures and standardized KPI definitions.

  • Implement bestpractice visualization principles (usability, design consistency, performance).

  • Develop and maintainPower BI datasets, dataflows, and paginated reports.

  • Monitor the performance of BI solutions and implement improvements to enhance speed and efficiency.

  • Follow documentation practices.

Data Modeling & Transformation

  • Build robuststar and snowflake data modelsaligned to our enterprise data architecture.

  • Write & optimize DAX calculations, query performance, and refresh strategies.

  • Use Power Query (M) to transform and shape data efficiently.

  • Work with data engineers to enhance thedata lakehouse, warehouse, and ETL pipelinesto support analytics consumption.

Deployment & Lifecycle ownership

  • Deployment of pipelines (Dev/Test/Prod promotion).

  • Create and perform Version control strategy.

  • Perform Semantic model lifecycle management.

  • Perform Impact analysis prior to deployment.

Testing & Quality

  • Build & implement Validation frameworks.

  • Perform regression testing of measures and KPIs and support user testing.

  • Develop documentation standards and follow documentation practices.

  • Participate in Change management.

Governance & Standards

  • Define and enforce Power BI governance, including workspace strategy, RLS/OLS security models, and dataset certification.

  • Ensure reports followcompliance and auditstandards required for a regulated financial institution.

  • Contribute to enterprise documentation, metric dictionaries, and reusable templates.

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of enterprise KPIs.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with business units to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver highquality BI products.

  • Communicate insights clearly to executives and operational teams.

  • Provide mentorship to junior analysts and promote a selfservice analytics culture.

Platform Administration & Optimization

  • Perform Power BI Serviceadministration: capacity planning, gateways, refresh schedules, workspace organization.

  • Monitor performance, optimize datasets, and troubleshoot issues across the platform and data pipelines.

  • Support scheduled refreshes and troubleshoot data issues.

  • Establish and maintain connections in Power BI online and Power BI gateway.

  • Helps provision and maintain access to Power BI online and its components.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

  • 7 - 10 + years of experience in BI development, with at least4 to 5+ years in Power BI

  • ExpertlevelDAXandPower Query/Mskills.

  • Strong understanding ofdata warehousing concepts: dimensional modeling, star schemas, ETL/ELT patterns.

  • Experience using SQL(SQL Server).

  • Proven ability to work with complex, enterprisescale datasets.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate business problems into data solutions.

  • Knowledge ofPower BI Admin, capacity management, and tenant governance.

Preferred

  • Experience infinancial servicesor highly regulated industries.

  • Experience in Lakehouse or warehouse architectures (Databricks, Synapse, Fabric, etc.).

  • Experience working in Databricks Lakehouse.

  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS) preferred.

  • Experience implementingdata governance standards, dataset certification, metadata management.

  • Familiarity withCI/CD pipelinesfor Power BI deployments (ALM Toolkit, Azure DevOps, Fabric Git integration).

  • Understanding of performance tuning and incremental refresh.

  • Experience building paginated or operational reports.

Starting Compensation:$106,194 - $138,052 plus a competitive benefits package
